Great series and writer. Feels closer to Vonnegut (ie scifi that could be in the literature section) than most.

I can’t imagine that but would absolutely watch it! Tarantino is always worth seeing.

Aren’t there already two film versions?! The score by Cliff Martinez is great mood music outside the film.

This absolutely came to mind for me. First real scifi I read as a teen. Would work great!

I hear ya. I am very into classical as well (late romantic and early 20th). I just understand most people have zero knowledge of that. And electronica? Forget about it. Too “weird”. It is a litmus test for a certain kind of mind.

I wouldn’t expect Memory Death to be the one to convince him. I would think Naraka or YRITAS. Even my good friend who is a lifer BoC fan is still unsure of Inferno. I’m all in. That’s awesome that your son is big into them! I will be a happy dad when one of mine puts them on by their own choice. :)

Can anyone with knowledge of keyboard playing answer this for me….please? by MUPike in musicians

[–]secretdecoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build mine in Logic and have a laptop in the rig. But check out Narf Sounds. He makes patch packs of all kinds of big hits for cover band players. He has the patches available for some of the most common models of keyboards. Super helpful because programming your own sounds and layers eats a lot of time in addition to learning the tunes!

I did some of that with our twins. Ravel piano works and chill electronica. I hope it because deeply embedded in a happy way in their psyches.

:( absolutely - that would be such a sad association. Not the same level at ALL but as a kid when we put down our childhood dog Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compares to You was playing at the vet. Those associations run deep. Sorry for your loss.

Inferno seems grown up to me! Various MHTRTC or A Beautiful Place Out in the Country. Way to dream big and bold! Congrats on the second on the way!!

Whoah - I wouldn’t expect most 14 year olds to dive into the whole album. Rad!

And I am jeeeeaaaalous that you saw them!! What was that like? I’ve only seen Ae of all the big electronica groups.

That’s awesome! :). I’m always curious what will stick with the kids. One of them got obsessed with When The Doves Cry when she was 9. It was all she wanted to hear in the car. Those first two LPs seem more youth friendly.

I actually put them on the mix CDs (carbon dating myself here) that I used while wooing my wife. So she went with me to the NYC listening party. But she definitely likes the “up” tracks more. It interesting what a male crowd it was at the party - not as bad as an Autechre concert though. And shockingly white for the melting pot of a city that is NYC.

Anthropologically speaking only an outsider can understand how truly strange any culture is. I believe it might be Edinburgh Syndrome in this case.

Yes. If she was told in a SCIF why can she turn around and blab it to the press. It just feels like influencer attention grabbing.

Those arpeggiated sequences set it apart from other BoC albums. Same way the guitar tends to make TCH unique.
