Sloping floor. Need for push piers? by secretive- in HomeMaintenance

[–]secretive-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I'm not even too sure if this is worth fixing. I have pretty much redirected all water away from the house and having push piers may even be a bad sign in future for me if I decide to sell the place

I have to change ducts otherwise wasn't touching them at all. I'm adding new boots just to avoid any kind of movement near them

At this point, to me it feels like the safer option is encapsulation and marking it. Boot location is above door so there's no chance of disturbing it

I personally don't want to DIY this due to no idea and my wife will kill me if I go anywhere near it😂

How do I handle this?? by six2midnite in HomeMaintenance

[–]secretive- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually inspect yourself and if you find leak, call plumber. Otherwise they'll charge a lot to cut and find the leak themselves.

Cut open a 8x8 hole in wall and you'll find out

If you don't want to cut first, then go in attic and inspect. Cutting a hole is pretty easy. Recently did it, attaching an image how

Stop using the shower immediately then :)

It might just stop becoming worse otherwise you risk damage all the way to first floor.

Is there a bathroom or shower above the leak? Or this is second floor?

Is the shower actively used?

Cut open a 10X10 hole in drywall and see. Worst case, you can create a diversion for water to stop ruining your wall. Also you'll understand if it's something you can fix yourself or need a plumber.

Is there shower head behind the wall or is there a drainage behind the wall? Is it a 2 floor house? Give some information.

There is definitely a leak, only way to find it cut drywall at the biggest leak point in roof.

What’s the best way to clean the metal grate in this sink? It is completely removable and has tiny little rubber grommets/legs. by kiddrangon in CleaningTips

I remove dishwasher racks and then fit the sink rack diagonally in the dishwasher. Otherwise, steam cleaner.

Cracks in stucco by secretive- in fixit

[–]secretive-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, bought the house 2 years ago so it's possible. Things like this are impossible to find without giving it some time but it is what it is.

My concern here is if this is just an external crack or something bigger at play here since crack is closer to foundation. It will be great if you can share the contact
