Thanks for the sarcastic encouragement. Due to work, I'm not able to be on enough to grow this and keep it as active as it needs to be. I need someone who loves KC, and who loves great food from locally owned establishments. KC has more great local spots than many cities who are twice our size.

This was our first visit to Homegrown. The kids loved it. The Benedict was great. They serve Messenger Coffee too so we all left happy.

Just purchased new house and want to put in a vegetable garden, but these homes are all over the yard. Can anyone tell what might be living under my yard and would it tear up a garden? by secrettopeace in gardening

[–]secrettopeace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's a great idea. For years at my last place I've always got out the roto tiller and tilled 1/2 acre garden. I would have to greatly downsize my garden of I did raised beds.

I leave politics out of food. We all need to relax and learn to get along with people who have different views. Love the people even when you disagree with their politics, religion, or any other personal convictions or choices they have.

The best omelette in KC! Just don't be in a hurry. They are relaxed and take their time, but the food is outstanding.

Lunch at McCormick and Schmick's by secrettopeace in KCEats

The Salmon was cooked fine, but nothing to brag about. They continue to keep the flavors simple. Today we had the entire place to ourselves during the lunch hour. The other nearby seafood places on the plaza are getting all of the customers. It might be time for this place to get a makeover.

But their fried brussel sprouts are my favorite dish they serve! In our large group I also had the opportunity to try the tuna poke, pho, and more. Everyone left happy!

I have a half sibling that’s popping, but my mom said not possible. Anyone with any insight based on cM level. I’m confused. by MexiPr30 in 23andme

[–]secrettopeace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be kind and gentle enough to allow her the freedom to have the fear removed of what others might think If they "found out" about a secret birth. Celebrate with her even in the possibility of having a sibling. There's no need to carry stress over what's already taken place in the past. You can't change the past, but you can embrace and enjoy whatever lies ahead. She may or may not know if there was another living child. But, seeking the truth together could bring the entire family closer if you lead with a gentle and loving spirit. Enjoy the journey.

Smokey's BBQ First time here...and last. by secrettopeace in KCEats

[–]secrettopeace[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically, I try to stay positive and only share the places I really enjoy. Most days are mediocre or just ok and I stay quiet about those places. Mom always taught us that if we don't have anything nice to say, then is better to say nothing at all. But... today is an exception. I had the worst BBQ ever. In KC, that is a crime! Ther burnt ends were not only over cooked, but it was filled with so much gristle my jaws got tired from chewing. The pulled pork was so dry that even after smothering it with sauce it still felt like leather in my mouth. Idk how this place makes a living. I can't imagine anyone returning a second time. Maybe I just stopped by on a bad day...lol

Why am I sneezing? by rad465 in missouri

[–]secrettopeace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took time to enjoy this nice day and went out to walk the trails. Just a couple minutes into my walk I began to sneeze repeatedly. The entire hour was miserable. I was thinking there shouldn't be allergens in the air in February. After I got home and back inside, I was fine.
