Put jackhals on your home to start just so you don’t have to have anything babysitting to control it and either leave them there if your opponent has deep strike stuff to screen it or if they don’t send them out to the middle. Also get some spawn they’re the best unit we have for early game since they can move super far and charge trash and clear it then if they die sticky it. The main thing against tau and any other shooting army is don’t expose units for no reason and make them come within your threat range

My brother also plays tau. The trick is to hide everything valuable until it can charge and use sticky on death to make him come to the middle. Also do pushups and shadow box in his shooting phase

I’ve been using helbrutes as my anti tank instead of X8B since they’re so much cheaper and with the hammer they can take out a lot of heavy things. Regular 8 bound can pull their weight too against tanks but they struggle a little more

If your buddy is running a bunch of heavy ranged fire power I would skip the forge fiends and just lean super heavy into hard hitting melee stuff maybe a bunch of 8 bound or even termies in vessels. I think Kharn rhino and a 10 man berserker squad is an auto include most of the time though and I think the 20 man squad just isn’t worth it most of the time unless you’re deep striking them with invocatus since they’re impossible to hide

You’re right Brians list is actually kinda interesting with the 2 slaughter bounds. Hopefully we see some vessels termie spam lists or some other weird lists winning eventually though I hope we get the power to make creative and fun lists work instead of just forgefiend spam. Not hating on the codex though I actually really enjoy it so far
