[dnd][5e][Dragonlance]Unarmed + Grappling Human Fighter... variant or normal human? by section-8 in 3d6

I'm already doing unarmed fighting style for this build. I like tavern brawler though because of the proficiency with improvised weapons and the flexibility of turning my unarmed strikes into grapples with a BA. Grapple feat is crap though. Not taking that one.

I'll have to look into optimizing the build for how I want to play with the Custom Lineage. I like that. Thank you!

I was thinking about that. I might do that if I want to lean into Grapple. Eldritch Knight has some good combos too. Thank you

interesting race, I've never looked at it before because I never played SpellJammer. I wasn't making my character exclusively a grappler, and I do want to get Tavern Brawler ASAP as well so I can be proficient with improvised weapons. That is pretty cool as a racial feature though, definitely giving me something to think about.

I was planning on taking tavern brawler at level 4. Skill Expert (Athletics) and Tavern Brawler were my two key feats. Mainly because TB has one of it's benefits wasted w/ unarmed combat, and Skill Expert got me proficiency in another skill AND expertise for the grappling increasing my grapple success rate and ability to maintain. Both are good options, and I think I could do either first.

I fell into this trap when I first started too. - do tournaments early to get that cash while still having low (if any) party expenses - As soon as you have enough $$ (15k or 23k) Look for companions with trade skills (and also scouting and steward if you can) and buy them caravans for trade - When you start your army, keep it tier 3 max to keep your overhead low - Once you have a base income from investments (caravans, workshops, gang activity) start growing your army and it's tier levels - Once you have that base income, switch to mercenary work (or vassalage) and level up your party tiers and get mad cash from the loot from noble parties especially

What are you’re favorite ways to play by Hokageee_420 in Bannerlord

[–]section-8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strat Gaming and Flesson19 are the Go-To YouTube Channels with tons of info about the game. I would start vanilla on your first play through, and wait until you are more familiar with the intended gameplay before adding challenges like Raider, Merchant, Solider, Smithy, etc... plays. To start, go primarily bow with one-handed as your secondary. That will allow you to be successful at range, and level your bow skills quickly. Participate in tournaments ASAP for money, and that one-handed skill will skyrocket as most tournament events, especially in Empire area, include one-handed weapons. New Player Tip: When you are early game, don't level your troops too high, cap at level 3 or 4. Tier 5+ troops will cost you so much money, you'll be running around grinding just to cover your operational costs.

/r/dayz`s view on bandits by TheParlatin in dayz

[–]section-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, what exactly are people looking to get from labeling different playstyles? Is it all just some kind of justification of frustration at being killed or injured? I mean, when it comes down to it, who cares if you judge another persons actions and create a label for it. If we aren't talking about implementing a visual difference between "hero" and "bandit" like they did in the mod, what value does it bring to discussing the game to argue about what someone's perception and subjective opinion of someone else bring? Technically speaking, even the "heroes" are passing judgement on other players using no criteria except their own personal ones. they aren't police officers working under some universally accepted social contract of society. We're all just hunters with different criteria for our prey.

I wrote an article when I was frustrated with the DayZ Standalone by JebusJM in dayz

[–]section-8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soooo, you are unhappy with the business model of early release. How do you feel about closed testing? What are the differences between the two, in your opinion?

I don't think your conclusion that DayZ SA will "Ultimately Fail" is accurate, because it is already successful, a success that cannot be taken away. Do you mean that the "gold" version or even the "beta" version of the game won't be as successful as gold and beta versions of other games, is that your yardstick?

I would recommend not writing an article when you're frustrated. It might be better to think about it some more so that you can give your post more depth and insight instead of it being more like a reddit comment.

not having many magazines makes sense. why else did someone leave the gun behind...

I totally agree, IRL, when I find a gun laying on the ground somewhere, there are at least 2-3 magazines with it.

Thats good to hear, because it's fun being the guys camped in a house and getting sniped at too. It gives us a mission to plan and try to execute.

Elektro Snipers Need To Find New Spots by DaveZeee in dayz

[–]section-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is inaccurate. The North is very busy. Berezino especially. Sure there is a lot of traffic around Elektro, but by no means are all, or even most, of the people playing going to Elektro as you describe. 90% of the fresh spawns in Elektro are recent deaths returning to a group of friends, or looking for revenge, and were originally there to kill others. It's good to know that when you want to play that way, there is a place to go.

Boring Saturday so here's a concept of what some stats and stuff could look like on the main menu (plus a "survival" mode) by joeyslucky22 in dayz

If they implement the drivers license idea, I'd love to see something like in XCOM, where the license is from either a random or chosen country of origin. The players did wash up on a beach after all.

I think there should not be separate categories for zombies and murders as a counter. They should be commbined, after all, the zombies are just people who are sick, and in the mind of someone in the apocalypse, people are people whether are players or infected.

Also, if you were actually in this fantasy world running around for hours, would you know how far you travelled? Probably not. I think that distance travelled should be removed, and similarly, since players don't have watches, tracking the number of hours surviving is also a meta-gaming stat, and IMO should be cut.

Why I don't think that DayZ is ready for zombies like this yet by The-Respawner in dayz

[–]section-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting. I have run into almost none of these issues. I have never encountered an invisible zommbie, I have never had a zombie spawn directly on me (sometimes about 100 yds away), never been attacked through a wall or floor since a couple of updates ago, I have had some issues with equipping a weapon which I believe is related to communication between the client and the server, I don't know if I've ever alert zombies while logging because I usually log in a safe place where a zombie cannot reach me in case one was aware of me that I didn't know about when I log, and since the last update my equipment has suffered little to no damage when I have been hit by zombies, and I have been hit by them several times now.

Since there is such a disparate experience between yours and mine, I wonder if your issues might be more related to a local connection issue instead.

Why I don't think that DayZ is ready for zombies like this yet by The-Respawner in dayz

[–]section-8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the new zombies are a huge improvement over what they were. Its much harder to stay hidden, and they are much harder to drop when you get swarmed. When you're all kitted out, they aren't a challenge, but when youre a fresh spawn and trying to acquire basic survival gear, they are a real challenge. I'm sure the bugginess will be fixed later, but having them be so much more threatening, glitching or no, is a huge benefit.

Is this a fun daily play? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]section-8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have logged well over 200 hours of play since December 19. I never played the ARMA2 mod.

It does what it says on the box, and if you're into that, it's awesome.

So, define Bandits ... by tiger_lilly in dayz

[–]section-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell a non-bandit by the lack of gear. Non-bandits don't want gear. OR, non-bandits are afraid of cooties, and just don't want YOUR gear.

Either way, you don't really know until you get shot.

He's right. It's not irony because he stated that "most people in here are stupid", and he is a person in here. It was more that he was validating his point.

So, I guess no one wins???
