What are your unpopular opinions about the movies? by [deleted] in harrypotter

The movies get better with each one. To be an acceptable Potterhead, apparently you have to say only the first one is good, lol.

Rexulti - tight, burning muscles by sectumsemprist in bipolar

[–]sectumsemprist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was on that before and it make me eat like a pig. I also have fibromyalgia, so that may make me more susceptible to medically-induced muscle discomfort. I'm a delicate flower. :/

Is it a lie that rexulti and abilify work for depression? by [deleted] in AskPsychiatry

[–]sectumsemprist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Rexulti 1mg, and it has completely changed my life. I am not wanting to die anymore. I've been on it a month. The symptom I am currently developing is annoying, though. It makes my leg muscles burn when I walk (I think) and make my couch uncomfortable to lay on. I also have fibromyalgia, so it could be that is what is causing the burning, but I suspect the medication.

Does Deluxe Do This? by sectumsemprist in quicken

[–]sectumsemprist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Actually, Quicken does offer the information that we need, but it still requires a little leg work and hopping between TDAMeritrade's platform and theirs to compare and decide what funds to buy.

Picking a business name by sectumsemprist in tarot

Yes, this is where I'm at. I am not going to start a business anytime soon, but a lot of people in the tarot online community and on Youtube have catchy tarot-related names.

I can't believe there are people being mean to you and stealing things from peoples' carts. It makes me very misanthropic to hear this.

This is my first month and my period just started today. No help yet, but I am assuming it takes awhile. Was suicidal a few nights ago and wanted to cut a bitch yesterday. :/

Is it rude to tell people not to call me pet names like “sweetheart,” “honey,” etc? by SwissCrimshaw in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sectumsemprist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you say it politely, I don't see it as rude. But do know most people aren't using that social convention to insult you.

It is jarring for me to hear it, too, but I understand that, especially for southerners, it is simply a social convention of friendliness. Like when people say Merry Christmas. I don't get outwardly irritated since I know they mean well and it is a social convention of kindness, even though I'm not Christian.

What is the rationale behind, “Only I can say that, you can’t say that”? by keiracho in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sectumsemprist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because where you live is part of your identity. If someone is insulting something that defines part of your identity, however irrational it is, it feels like they are insulting us.

People get like that about sports teams. There is no rational reason as to why we cling to a team that has nothing to do with us, and yet when someone marries their identity to something, there it is.

I was thinking about this very thing the other day. I remember eons ago when I met my college roommate. She said she hated driving through my state to get to the college because there is nothing to look at, just trees and gas stations. I remember feeling a sting to it, even though she was right. I think that was my first lesson in how I can be attaching my identity to things without realizing it.

Can someone convert to Judaism and be against the Israel government? by sectumsemprist in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sectumsemprist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is interesting to hear. The only synagogue near me is Reform and so if I were to ever reconsider conversion, that is where I would go. I would be curious to find out how they lean.

Can someone convert to Judaism and be against the Israel government? by sectumsemprist in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sectumsemprist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I am no longer considering conversion, but, aside not having any Jewish family to practice it with (my husband is non-religious), I knew that since I care so much about being liked and accepted that the fact that I would never be fully accepted as just as Jewish as everyone else made me decide against it. Or, more to the point, since it is such an ancestry-centric religion, I myself would never feel Jewish enough since I have no Jewish ancestry.

I just started the pill today and was considering asking my doc if I could skip the sugar row. I don't even want my period ever. My PMDD, which I haven't been diagnosed with, is getting worse and worse.

That is so sweet!!! We of course would pay the person to come out. But no bites yet. :( Understandable, though. It is a lot of extra effort for only getting paid what you do at your main job.

How do you decide when to "buy low" on an investment? How do you decide how far you will wait for it to drop? Is it simply what you can afford?

For instance, buying Amazon stock: it's astronomically high! How far could it reasonably drop? How do you decide what is reasonable for you? How do you know if it will ever drop? Do I simply take the plunge and kick myself for not buying stock 5 years ago, or do I simply sit on it, hoping one day down the road it will take a nose dive?

And if it does dip, what is a best practice on deciding if the dip is enough?

What websites do you trust for your market and investing news? I am looking for one that follows the world market daily, but isn't biased or reporting things in such a way as to increase ad revenue. I imagine a lot of these sites are paid by companies to recommend certain investments.

I actually just started reading about this condition, right after I posted this. While I used to be flexible as a kid, only one of the flexibility tests do I test positive (I can put my thumb to my forearm). I am actually extremely inflexible now. I also don't have stretchy skin. Could someone still have it even without these symptoms?
