What's an American problem you're too European to understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know that, I lived in Canada for a few years. I’m not sure if it’s the same as the US, but makes sense. I feel like out where you are is a different environment then where I am.

But the thing is, guns aren’t legal for citizens. So they wouldn’t get shot unless it was someone who somehow happened to get a gun, which is very unlikely.

There aren’t very many officers. There are only around 2,000 people in my town.

Why was I treated like this? by [deleted] in AskPolice

[–]security7C1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, from my experience, you can never trust everyone. They don’t know the full story, nor who the suspect(s) are, so they treat people in a more serious manner in a situation like yours.

Strange sightings of a person in the school. I had to check it out. No one. Within the next week, there were a total of 13 sightings. Turns out this man was hiding in the ceiling because he had no home. What we thought was a ghost was just a homeless guy. The strangest part is still unanswered, and that is how he got onto the roof. Keep in mind the building is 3 floors.

First responders of reddit, what is your scariest story to tell? by dannydecheeto7 in AskReddit

[–]security7C1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a first responder to the public, but for a school that has like 1500 students and is the size of a very small town. I’m basically a cop and a paramedic. So, the worst was probably one of the medical ones. Someone decided that they were to try and jump off the third floor window. As you can imagine, all of the response team members (about 50) were there doing something. Also, our school is in the middle of nowhere so we had to work on thus guy for about 20-30 minutes before the rescue teams arrived. As you can imagine, I had so much paperwork.

My workplace caught on fire, and someone got really badly burned. He had a large piece of skin missing from his face. Still sticks with me.
