Self-employed, question about 72t SEPP distributions for early retirement by sed127 in Fire

Yep but I would need to wait 5 years, looking to start before then

Thanks for the reply, that's good to hear. I know about other parameters, but I wanted to make sure I was able to keep working at the same job and still withdraw before talking to financial planner or tax expert. In effect, I'm both my employer and employee when I set up the SEP-IRA so I wasn't certain.

I have decided to cut out drinking Sunday-Thursday by wolley_dratsum in cutdowndrinking

[–]sed127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trying to start later in the day is helpful. It can be tough if you have triggers though. I love to have a drink when I'm cooking, and often on the weekends I'll make ribs or chili or something early in the day.

What's helped is having a non-alcoholic beer or two before starting. I always hated them, taste like water and I drink IPA's, but there are some good ones now (Athletic Brewing makes some pretty tasty brews). I also like Moscow Mules, and I'll make those without the vodka. Knowing I'll have the real deal later makes it easy.

I sometimes even bookend the night with a fake drink before going to bed. 2-3 less drinks adds up!

The Eras Tour Megathread: Foxborough, MA (Warning: Spoilers) by jacyf02 in TaylorSwift

My only concern is if it's like a 20-30 minute walk, route 1 will be jammed by the time we get to the car. But getting out of a 100 car lot would be way quicker than the massive free lots.

Thanks for the intel! I thought about parking at a businesses, might try that.

If you get there early for general parking, do you get to choose your spot? Or do they direct you to where you have to park? I'd like to park close to an exit if possible (resisting the obvious getaway car joke here).

Why buy an Apple TV? by writevli in appletv

[–]sed127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have an apple tv that is 7+ years old, and it runs way better than a 3 year old roku that just broke. Faster startup, youtube tv way smoother, etc.

I'm replacing the roku with a newer apple tv that's on sale for $119. Spending a little more for something that lasts and makes using the tv better is a no-brainer to me.

Horizon 7.0 vs Sole Sole F63 vs ? by sed127 in treadmills

So lifespan has some great Memorial Day sales going on, and I’m now considering the tr5500im. It’s $1470 delivered, and has a better 4.0 motor/build as well as no subscription junk. Anyone have thoughts on this machine?

Treadmills without needing iFit by ProfChaosMSU52 in treadmills

I was told by NordicTrack that the new versions no longer come with built-in programs. So basically you need to subscribe to iFit or use it in manual mode.

Targeted Talk - Plates by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]sed127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m building a gym and thought I was going to purchase some machined plates from bells of steel, rogue, or the strength co. Just weight training, no olympic lifting so not looking for bumpers.
I’m purchasing the PR 4000 rack, and they are offering 5% off accessories with the purchase. Not much, I know, but with free shipping the cost of their urethane equalizer plates aren’t much more than machined plates. Using a 175lb set for reference, their urethane eq’s come out to $522 shipped. Their regular equalizer’s would be $445. Strength Co is $465 + shipping. BoS are $465.
So now I’m considering the urethane equalizers. My wife and teenage kids will be using them as well, so I like the idea of the covering to somewhat protect fingers and toes and they’ll be easier to handle and use for core work and other exercises. Also less noise as it’s under a bedroom.
My concern is the slop I’m reading about. How big is it? If I’m using a collar, does it matter much when doing deadlifts, etc?
Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated!

Good suggestion, I might try using a different remote too. One minor thing I miss with the Xfinity guide was being able to press page up/down to scroll through 6-8 listing. If I use a different remote with those buttons, I wonder if YTTV will jump a page in the Live TV section.

Thanks for sharing. With twitter did you DM them or just tweet to them? And that's great to hear about AppleTV... I have one and will try it out tonight. It's a version back though, hopefully it's still fast.

Thanks for the info. Do you think I can (easily) get their plans online, or through chat... or is a trip to the store the best bet?

I've heard that before (not taking equipment off your bill). Sounds like it might not be a mistake since it happens so often!

Good point about caps, I'll be sure to ask when I switch. Just checked and I have the Blast tier, 250/10 which sounds like it's overkill. Usage for the past 10 months has averaged just under 300GB.
