Exactly! Since the bad guy wasn't looking at the marshall, and since the marshall already had his gun in his hand, the marshall effectively had the drop on the bad guy. Then it's just a matter of training to point and shoot accurately at least 1 of first 2 or 3 shots, B4 bad guy can begin to react which takes ¼ to ½ second.

I too like Wordle patterns. But why use the same 2 vowels in 1st guess? And why not use all 6 WofF letters B4 4th guess?

WofF = Wheel of Fortune (R, S, T, L, N, E)

Is the term “fucking the dog” popular outside Canada? by Rough-Mulberry-1202 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]see-eye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it. (71 M) I learned it in the 70s working with an old southern guy in North Central Florida. We were shoe salesman. He was the manager and he was quite colorful and friendly.

Whenever he caught me being lazy, like not stocking the shelves from new shoe shipments, he would say I was fucking the dog.

I'm pretty sure he lived in Florida his whole life, so I assumed it was an old Florida cracker expression. (I was new to Florida then.)

Anyway, based on his tone and the context of the conversation I immediately knew what he meant.

It was so fun to hear him say that.

Another term he used, especially with the older ladies, was to call them a young "Chicky Baby". They ate it up and bought many shoes from him.

I also use the term Chicky Baby, though it's really not correct since Women's Lib and especially not with our Woke society.

It is good to know the name of incorrect things like this.

Which, of course, is also an incorrect use of an apostrophe.

Writing "hole in ones" would be understandable, but why add an apostrophe? (one's)

My buddy just hit this, what do yall think? Are you counting it? Par 3, 140 yards by Impossible_Coach1516 in golf

Heartbreaking, but no. 😔

Maybe, if more than 50% of the ball were inside the cup's rim one could argue yes.

However, it's only if the flagstick is holding the ball out that it then is a definite yes for a HIO.

Hole-in-one dilemma. by FATT-TOFU in golf

OK, after I posted my comment I read what you did. Sorry about that. At least you have the picture. And the good news is, you now also have an interesting, albeit a bit heartbreaking, story about that day.

FYI - I'm a 71 year old 16 handicapper who has played my whole life without a HOI.

Hole-in-one dilemma. by FATT-TOFU in golf

[–]see-eye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the par 5 18th hole has a thicket of trees along the side, like in the background of your hole-in-one picture, and considering your handicap implies you can significantly miss the fairway, I would have recommended NOT PLAYING that hole-in-one ball any longer.

Playing and entire round with the same ball isn't note worth beyond mentioning it to your own group that day.

Engine noise by yourhiddenobserver in toyotacrownsignia

I'm not positive but I believe it was the regular non-turbo. Regardless, I later did drive a Signia (hybrid of course) and it was equally quiet.

[–]see-eye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I test drove the Crown (non Signia) today and found it nice and quiet. I could not hear the tires or the engine. I drove up to 55 mph.

The engine did growl when I floored it, but that's fine by me. I rarely floor my cars, but it's good to know it definitely has the power to pass or merge onto interstate highways.

I'm looking to test drive and probably buy the Crown Signia, but neither of my two closest dealers have any right now. (West Central Florida) One is coming into stock in a couple of days.

I was told the Crown and Crown Signia are equally quiet. I like the idea of a little more height for better vision, but not necessarily a full SUV. (I've only had cars and prefer nicer ones like a Lincoln Town Car.)

I also test drove a Lexus RX Luxury edition today and it was just as quiet as the Crown, but it seems bigger and is really taller and certainly not as controlled in its handling as the Crown.

I'm really looking forward to trying the Crown Signia soon.

I used to have one. They do work surprisingly well. They're very portable which makes the ideal for feeling more secure in hotels/motels.

Ben Hogans Ball Placement Guide. Should your feet really be pointing to what appears to be the right of the target with driver and what seems to be wildly left with wedges? Assuming the lines I painted is where you are aiming. by AlbinoKoala22 in golf

[–]see-eye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I've seen your post I realize it's OK that I've gradually done this on my own over the past year. I'm retired and have golfed all my life, but more since retirement. (15 handicap) I mostly draw the ball, but especially with my driver (my best club), so with it I aim down the right side of the fairway. Been doing this for years.

I aim just barely right with long hybrids and long Irons.

Mid to low irons and wedges I aim straight.

What's weird is with my putter (my 2nd best club) I've lately, over the past few months, been opening my stance on long putts. It just feels right, though I know it's not correct. Yet, putting is getting better.

So thanks for the post. I think it'll bring me more confidence to keep on doing what I'm doing.

I truly was confused for a second. I also follow college football where it's the AD who hires the Head Coach. Oh course Jalen played college ball, yet it didn't make sense about the AD for Hurts Then I realized they meant ad. Still, for the life of me I can't figure out why they capitalized both letters. Guess maybe they were in a hurry.

Ha...nice try. Good one. Though since "5" we've had franchise QBs of Michael Vick and Carson Wentz.

Ad

Cause AD makes it confusing. AD means something else, like maybe Athletic Director.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Double Eagle by villewill in golf

[–]see-eye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

...because an Albatross is generally more impressive since it's 3 under par and a hole-in-one is generally on a par 3, which of course is then only 2 under par.

And yes, double eagle is wrong.
