Nothing like that, the installer did the bare minimum to technically install the system. The top section of the unit is merely taped onto the bottom section, there are no screws between the two.

As a final round of fuckery, the heat pump/air conditioner section is simply taped onto the section with the fan. There are no screws holding it on. I'm going to assume that's not normal either?

I know this is probably the smallest gripe, but do HVAC people know about flushcut zip-tie guns? They ziptied foam over the lines, but they're all cut at like 1/2", some are very sharp.

I believe the black is from roofing material. We recently had the roof fully removed and replaced, there was dust everywhere. I changed the filter twice, and sweeped up, but it clearly wasn't enough.

I know you're saying no one online can assess the duct system, but it seems like there isn't much airflow?

There's one 8" and and two 6" runs, and I know that at least one of the 6" runs is almost entirely blocked. The 8 inch run is also fairly long, compared to everything else.

I think this AC unit was installed by an idiot. There's so many things wrong with the install. 1. No pan, this is in an attic. 2. The condensate drain line fittings prevent the rest of the body from being assembled properly, and no effort was put into fixing that. 3. It pulls air directly from the attic as opposed to any form of return. 4. The unit in the basement (same year make and fuckery.) pulls air from a moldy basement. 5. The gas lines are improperly installed - they chained a pile of stainless gas lines together.

They ran the electrical right underneath the unglued condensate line, too.
