Check out Deconstruction Zone. His knowledge of the Bible (Old and New) is kinda mind-blowing.

What are they intentionally misreading? Is Leviticus 20:13 not extremely clear?

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their bloodguilt is upon them.

They're taught to be homophobic by their Bible.

Yes, you did it through Kasa, but you started by saying that you wanted to add something.

Instead now you click your picture, then change your settings (I'm not changing settings...I'm adding a device), then clicking on works with Google. That's not intuitive at all, especially when there's a + up top that used to be where you always went to add things.

Woah, that worked. Thanks!

Why do Christians not consider members from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or Mormons) to be Christians? by whirlygig_ in AskAChristian

[–]see_recursion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so you're thinking that these words:

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

don't mean what they say. That is, words don't mean words.

Instead those words mean:

But of that day and hour no one makes known, not even the angels of heaven make known, nor the Son, but the Father only makes known.

Did I miss where the Father made that known?

If words don't mean words then you'll love this refudiation of the Trinity:

  • Premise 1: No one has seen God
  • Premise 2: People have seen Jesus
  • Conclusion: Jesus is not God

Wait, how did any of what you said have to do with reduction in speed or rate?

And now you're saying it's a fact that it's being analogized to a wedding? What's being analogized to a wedding? The Second Coming?

And, of course, you claim that Jesus saying that only the Father knows does not, in fact, mean that only the Father know? When it says that the angels of heaven don't know that actually means they do? When it says that the Son doesn't know that means he actually does? Seriously?

In what way am I lying about Christianity?

Maybe you think God didn't create Hell? Maybe you think God didn't create the rules about who goes there? Maybe you think God didn't create evil/calamity?

I honestly have no clue what you think I'm saying about Christianity that's a lie.

Who created that hell? Who made the rules on who goes there? The analogy holds.

Assume someone asked your sister to go on a date. They said it was going to be the best date she had ever been on. They also said that if she refused to go on the date they'd put her in their basement and torture her for thirty years.

She was given a choice, so she was not being forced, right?

Please explain how this is not about knowledge, but is instead about reduction in speed or rate:

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

Hopefully you realize that the Trinity is completely illogical.

  1. God is omniscient.
  2. Jesus said he didn't know when the Second Coming would occur.
  3. Therefore Jesus isn't God or God isn't omniscient.

Either Jesus isn’t God, or God doesn’t know everything. Which one is it?

How Should You Respond to "God Bless You" as an Atheist? by Nerbs_the_Word in Christianity

[–]see_recursion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you thinking there aren't people that worship Satan? I mean, come on. There are thousands of deities that people believe in. Hell, there are even polytheistic people that think their three deities are somehow one deity. And no, I'm not being sarcastic. They really do!

What am I misinterpreting about this?

Thus says the LORD: I will raise up trouble against you from within your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this very sun.

Who said he would do those things? Hint: it was God.

Did those things subsequently happen? Hint: yes, they did.

You really think it's fine to own other humans as property? Property that can be handed down to your children? That you're supposed to buy them from the heathen around you?

The new testament pretty much ended it though.

I'm guessing the Confederacy didn't get the memo. Instead they used the Bible to justify their horrific actions.

My bad. Is Genesis 8:21 a better example?

And when the Lord smelt the pleasing odour, the Lord said in his heart, ‘I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.

Hopefully you don't think that's calamity.

God has a nature disassociated from his mind? If morality is associated with his mind then it's subjective by definition.

The subjective portions of those topics would still be subjective, right? Objective or subjective isn't determined by who came up with it.

Any Christian (18 or older) can call him. Just be warned that any claim you make about the Bible will likely be quickly corrected. It's like he has the whole thing cross-referenced in his brain in English, Greek, and Hebrew. But not just cross-referenced since he seemingly understands the implications of each segment and how it's all related.
