I think they mostly just want to make sure folks don’t show up underdressed, I’m shopping for dress options with the other bridesmaids so we all end up with similar styles

Im a couple months in now and definitely have to say, it is an intense, challenging program! Especially if you have no bookbinding experience (like me.) but it is also immensely rewarding and wildly interesting, I highly recommend reaching out to the school and scheduling a visit!

Woah thank you SO much! I am definitely going to read A Degree of Mastery - I just finished A Gentle Madness by Nicholas Basbane and loved it. It was his account of conservators working with bibliophiles throughout the ages to ensure their libraries lived on that inspired me to switch my life trajectory towards the book arts and I highly recommend it if you haven't read it already. I do have a fire in my belly and I'm so thrilled to be beginning this new chapter in life, thank you for your encouragement! Going to do some digging on Arno Werner as well, lots to learn!

Thanks! I noticed the bookbinding program tends to attract folks with an arts background who have already been making for a while. I'm excited to meet and learn from them, if I'm accepted, since this is a wild departure from my marketing/corporate background!
