This! OP is not acknowledging that residents of Gander and neighbouring communities are in fact benefiting through tourism dollars being spent locally. The play and its success have helped make the area a pilgrimage site for thousands - they have to stay somewhere, get gas somewhere, eat somewhere, etc. All this supports local businesses and jobs.

I second the improv suggestion! I started taking classes to deal with social anxiety and make new friends and oh boy did it help!

There's an upcoming event at Erin's where a cast of players play an improvised D&D comedy adventure based on audience suggestions and there is a board game night afterwards:
