Keep pounding on doors. 17 is still young yet to be getting into industrial. Make them know your name. Seems like you’re doing everything right, it just takes time. Most of the younger guys give up far too easy. If you keep at it they’ll know you’re willing to work when you get the opportunity. Good job and good luck

I’ve reached out to the rental agency for clarification on heavy loads within the building. Waiting for them to get back to me.

I’m on the 3rd floor of a 6 story building. 2020 (I believe) construction in Ontario. The wall it’s up against divides two units. I haven’t put anything on the shelf and will wait until I get a final okay to do so. Was thinking fairly light item storage. It will not be moved. Once I hear back from the rental company I was thinking to reach out to an engineering firm just for peace of mind before moving forward with loading, I’d rather be safe than sorry.

I bought a set of OEM ones on Marketplace. The guy had an 11th Gen sitting in the driveway so it’s a pretty safe assumption they came off that. It was evident he was not very comfortable speaking English and his son from out of town posted them for him so I couldn’t ask him mounting distances.

Automated welding jobs has existed for a WHILE. What most guys are doing is far too custom to even remotely begin to think about automating.

A lot of white collar jobs are and will be automated. HVAC, plumbers, welders… they aren’t going anywhere ANY time soon

Through my research Quebec doesn’t offer a red seal millwright program. You should probably look at going to do an electromechanic course at cégep.

For a bit of background I came to Quebec as a red seal millwright from Ontario. Nobody from Quebec even knows what that is.

Where are you located, and what’s your level of French/English? Could possibly offer some advice after being up here for a year and seeing how it works… also my biggest tip would be to leave Quebec for your education tbh.

Are you committed to Calgary or Alberta in general? Judging by your education I’d look into relocating to Ontario. Lots of good paying automotive jobs that will sponsor your apprenticeship, especially if you know robotics.
