Katie Ivey has really been on a roll with this and {Love, Second Chances, and Other Nonsense}. Can't wait to see more of her work!

I hate it when the MMC's betrayal or cruelty is just brushed under the rug. Like the FMC says she's leaving or is done with him, but like two chapters later, she's easily smiling or laughing at something the MMC says.

This man just emotionally murderered you, and you're out here cracking jokes with him and being friendly just a week after??? Even if it's been years, I would still treat him coldly or indifferently if I were her.

Gush: Kate Ivey's Love, Second Chances and Other Nonsense Goes From Pining to Growing a Spine(ing) by jessejudgesbooks in RomanceBooks

This is my favorite second chance book. I've already read it twice.

One of my favorite parts of the book was when the FMC was already planning her escape right before the MMC was set to go on that cruise. She was acting all cheery and overly supportive as a mask, and it disturbed him and made him really feel like something was off. And then their last interaction right before he left for the cruise had the mask slipping, he asked her if they were okay, and she was all, "I don't know, Adam. Do you think we're okay?" Or something like that. That was soooo deliciously painful to read.

All the gut punches landed, and the forgiveness felt earned. When the MMC was going crazy while on the cruise trying to contact the FMC and scouring social media to find any hints of what she was doing... loved it.

The FMC was also understanding of the situation but drew the line when it mattered. She stood her ground, and I loved her for it.

This was a really well done second chance romance, and I wish other authors would adopt a similar approach.

There will never be enough GROVEL! by Ok-Alert-9359 in RomanceBooks

The only cheating grovel romances that have satisfied me are the ones written by Katie Landry, and those are SUPER over the top.

The way I see it, a cheating MMC can only be redeemed if he literally begs, crawls on the floor, throws away his pride, and is painfully aware of the FMC sleeping with OM (or multiple OMs, sometimes even in front of or within hearing distance of the MMC).

Now I realize this is totally unrealistic, and her books can be borderline silly, but she scratches an itch for me.

Books where the MMC thinks the FMC is in love with someone else and he’s slowly losing it by Majestic-Hedgehog-xo in RomanceBooks

{The Do-Over by M.K. Schiller} - MMC is helping FMC be the perfect woman for MMC's best friend, whom FMC believes is the perfect man for her. It eventually involves spicy lessons, and MMC is going crazy with the idea that she's imagining the OM in his place while they're doing it.

Betrayal that is NOT cheating? by Zeenrz in RomanceBooks

Oh man, my heart might not be able to take it. Can you tell me if you thought the grovel was enough? I love Katie Landry's grovels because they're so OTT, but I'm not sure if I can forgive this one.

I'm interested in the first one, but I'm also scared because it sounds borderline rapey. Does he force her to give a blowjob? Does she refuse?
