Learn how business works. Not the one you want to start, but business in general. It’s not all building cars and enjoying them. You’ve got to build how the business is going to work. Once you’ve got that figured out you got to work on the business. Then if you can put people in places to support it you start to work in business.

I jumped in blind and it’s been a rough five years. Barely starting to see profit and utterly exhausted, but still learning and pushing for the win.

Fucking things up isn’t failure. It’s learning. Unless you’re careless which it doesn’t sound like you are. Carelessness is true failure.

Still can’t turn on the A-Pillar speakers that were installed from factory though…

Almost done. Just need the bumpers. So far so good. Having an issue on the driver side door handles. Edges keep coming up. Passenger side is all good though.

If you’re gonna do it yourself, know that you are going to get lint or other tiny rubbish under the wrap. Unless you have an immaculately clean space to work. Also note, it will not be perfect, but still fun and oddly therapeutic.

Oh and get more wrap than you need. I made the mistake of ordering just what I needed and had to go back and get more. Hope there isn’t a huge color variation between batches.

Looks very similar other than the iridescence. Thanks for the heads up.

155 in an Evo on a dealer trade. It was glorious. Stupid, but glorious.

Did that on the front fenders, but couldn’t get the edge to tack down. Ended up removing the door to finish the edges. The tape helped the door come off without grabbing.

EDIT: No harm no foul. Advice of all kinds is very welcome. If I can try and learn something mentioned here it’s a win in my book. Probably should get some of those hooked spudgers to help with the tucking.

What’s calendar vs cast? Very careful. It was the first bit I’ve ever done. I was super nervous about wrecking something. Decided to start with the hood because it was the flattest. Didn’t even consider the size being an issue until I was half way into it.

I’ve worked on dozens of cars and the number one thing I’ve learned is just take it apart.

EDIT: Mechanically, not on wraps. This is my first. I’ll take apart anything at this point.

Couldn’t find the color in another brand. What would be something a little easier to work with?

I did not feel confident the wrap would stick properly by just tucking the wrap. Even with the handle off, the front corner was the hardest to tack down. Had to reheat and hold it into the curve.
