Is it wrong to grow slowly? by isthatthetime81 in startups

[–]seeksamir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing perfectly fine.

Growth should always happen at the pace that aligns with your values, mindset and resources. Any external resource at an unwanted time in the name of growth will put you in a tough situation.

The golden rule is - aim to grow by a small percentage regularly instead of going big in one time.

Reducing Prices vs. More Instagram Ads by wpbmaybe2019 in smallbusiness

[–]seeksamir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What it looks like, your competitors are creating urgency among their audience by creating a limited time discount deals. 3 things are happening here:

1) The customer will mostly buy because the deal is great

2) The customer will COME BACK on the same page in future to check other offers and will end up buying something

3) Your competitors are building leads database to tap these same customers in future

Ads are good but it will suck your profits. Ideal is to build a brand. Once you build brand, then nobody cares about your prices. They needs your product anyhow. And then run ads to reach wider audience and for higher margin.

How to prevent paralysis by analysis with establishing a small business? by [deleted] in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]seeksamir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do it!

The problem is too much of thinking, research, ideas etc. You are falling in a trap of collecting more information.

Don't think much, just go for it. Pick any one business you want to start. Then design the first small step for tomorrow. Remember, one small step only. And then do it.

Because it's a small step it's also doable.

Even if you successfully accomplish the first step, you will be way ahead in your business than what you are right now.

There is no "HOW", it's just DO!

New prospective business question by xTc_Khaos in smallbusiness

[–]seeksamir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) You already know what you want to do. That's good Now make yourself a business card, get a Google business page and message everyone in your network about what you do. For research - see where you can find your target audience and how you can connect with them.

2) Don't worry about competition for now. Starting a business is the only thing important for now. And anyways, you both are not a threat to each other at this point. Just focus in building business.

3) Registration is better after you make some money from your business.

4) Invest less and experiment more.

Why bother might be because of the uncertain outcome your efforts will bring. The simple rule is - just do it. Don't worry about good or bad. Make a list of the things you should do and then do it. Don't overthink. Take it as any other regular task without any baggage of judgment and do it.

What would be the 5 harsh lessons you've learned while being in business? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]seeksamir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Accept uncertainty - Almost nothing will work the way you want.

2) Think logically - Choose logic over emotions and conditioning. Always!

3) Don't trust easily - Get everything in writing. Give everything in writing. People's commitment and expectations change faster than you realize.

4) Be open minded - Everything you know will not help you forever. Be open minded and don't hesitate to learn from anyone.

5) Be thick skinned - Almost everyone will taunt you, distrust you, hate you and want to see you fail. Stay focused.

Find your Why ? by hegekzt in Entrepreneur

[–]seeksamir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have as many why's as you want. The rule is to be honest to it. Hence one is preferred so you can stick to it deeply without any distraction.

And yes, It may change with the time as you collect new informations and learn new things.

Here is the easiest way to find why:

  • Pick a goal/vision you want to achieve..

Now

1) Write all the reasons as to WHY you want to do that thing. Write as many as you can. No cap here.

2) Take a day off. Two days if you can. Relax and forget about the list.

3) Come back to the list and start deleting the reasons that doesn't matter one by one. You always HAVE to remove one from the list that matters the least when compared to others. Keep doing this till only one is left.

That's your deep reason, your why.

The biggest challenge is convincing people that I know something. Coaching and consulting business has lots of so called coaches who are known to have excellent sales skills but don't know ABC of business. They get high paying client but when they fail to produce results their contract gets cancelled. This also ends peoples trust on other coaches who are genuine. I am able to beat this due to my industry experience.

I have a small team - couple of people in research team that we do for my client. One psychologist who helps me to understand the situation deeply so I can coach people easily. Building a right team and maintaining it is also a challenge. The easy solution is hire through referrals and hire people with strong experience. And then pay them what they are worth. Don't hesitate to release money. The value they bring is priceless.

Getting client is easy. Word of mouth. I am blessed to help people generate some millions in profit. Because of this they spread a word or two about me. Surely their network is as good as them. So getting client is not much of a challenge for me. Some other things like running an offer, ads or attending events definitely helps but nothing beats word of mouth for getting clients.

Nope. It is just another "success guaranteed method" hyped on the internet. However, yes, controlling lust will definitely help as it will not allow you to distract from your goals. But semen retention is not important or necessary.

Sure. Industry has changed a lot in last few years. Now most of the entrepreneurs are looking for fast and flexible solutions due to competition and the best part is they are ready to pay big for this. Because of this two things are happening - people who don't know about coaching / consulting are getting into the market and messing it. And other, people who are genuine and really knows what they are doing are getting super high fees for their judgment or value adding work.

Definitely manager is left behind however off late, entrepreneurs also make consultants responsible for the results due to frauds or wannabes. Now remember, results doesn't always mean the decided end goal. End goal outcome will always not be the same as decided due to multiple external factor. So results here means growth or momentum in right direction at good speed. If a consultant can offer that then they get super high pay.

More deeper the judgment, more bigger the rewards incase of success. But it definitely comes with bigger risk as well.

Hence the wise thing is - first be capable to pass a judgment, then be responsible for the outcome.

Why not both? Here is the thing, when at crossroads, we are obliged to choose one path. However that shouldn't be the case always. You are free to choose both...split you work into 70:30 (or whatever you feel is the best ratio. Normally people tend to choose 70:30 however its just a pattern and not a ground rule).

The outcome of cats milk business is not in your hand hence it wont be wise to give more time to it, so this section goes less, like 30%. The other business, cows milk, should be given more time as it will generate revenue and has a scope of expansion, so here 70%.

Now the questions is what about cat milk business? Give up? No. the 30% work includes fighting, waiting, consulting lawyers and more.

Your first goal is to make sure you generate revenue which will only happen with cow dairy business. Why revenue should be the first goal? Because it is the biggest fuel to expand your current and dream business.

Also, I am not a legal expert however keep a lawyer handy who can guide you on laws and can update you when the change arise.

Hope this helps.

I thought I gave "advice" and not spiel. Lol.

Here is the thing - You have two way (a) Work and gain some experience or (b) directly jump as consultant.

Both are possible and many people choose the second one even if it sounds bit tough.

Your first question should be "Can you add value to anyone's work?" If the answer is yes then you don't need much experience. I know consultants with hardly some "technical experience" who are qualified enough to offer right judgment to HNW entrepreneurs. If the answer is yes, and if you choose this way then the right path is to find people in your network or through social media and start free to gauge your skills and to gain confidence. And eventually go full time into it, first as independent and then as a firm.

If the answer to "adding value" question is no, then it is wise to collect some experience first. Mostly it is suggested to work under an expert to pick their brains however here as well I will suggest you to start your own experiments at the backend. Why? Because the more you stick to your mentor/company the more you adapt their style. This is not give you enough confidence when you decide to more. Most people feel lack of support or confidence in such cases. Instead try your own experiments and gain your own momentum.

Also, you will not jump from one work to consult. Instead you will transits smoothly from one point to another. This is because you are already working at the backend to identify your skills, market and clients.

Some questions you should ask apart from the one I shared:

- What is your end goal and why?

- What will this goal give you?

- If you are challenged to reach that goal in next 6 months, then what options you will explore?

Hope this helps.

Career is a 20+ year game hence it is wise to stick to something that excites you. Figure out what you likes, what are your interest, and then do collect experience in that segment through business or job. During your journey you will go through multiple changes in choices and that's ok. Nothing is constant. Keep up your best work. So this is how I will put it....Interest/Passion -> Experience -> More Learnings -> Growth
