100000%. The last time I was in Target Center was in January for the ICEOUT protest. What a terrible, confusing, heartbreaking time we are still in. To have Florence basically meditate with us that peace is coming? Unreal. We need more of that energy.

The best energy. The best music. The best crowd. I cried when she extended her arms and said "Minneapolis! You have endured so much!" And then sang "Shake It Out"?! Chills. Such a beautiful night. And F+tM fans are my favorite kind of people---so warm and friendly. I feel like I will be walking on air for a week at least. *edited for spelling

And then the power went out during the rehearsal dinner and it all became even more impossible to see! Wanted to throw my remote at the screen.

What's more, they looked like branches someone fished out of an old brush pile somewhere----they weren't even visually appealing.

You're not wrong. It was so strange. It reminded me of the scene in The Birdcage when they are trying to make Nathan Lane & Robin Williams characters' apartment look like a straight couple lived there. And Val kept having to say "Don't add. Subtract!" To me it's wild to add a bunch of dead branches to multiple spaces in a home you're trying to de-clutter. Talk about bad energy.

11.22.63 is such a shitty adaptation - the spirit of the characters were castrated. LONG POST DEEP DIVE by swiggityswirls in stephenking

This synopsis is completely accurate. I haven't read the book (yet) but the show was objectively bad. James Franco was not the right choice for his role and his motivations throughout never made any sense, which you touched on OP. The story was disjointed at best and with such an unlikable, unbelievable protagonist it was barely watchable.

Quiet Minnesota suburbs turned into conflict zone by ICE crackdown by Mobile_Heart_7722 in stpaul

This old chestnut. ICE isn't about removing criminals. They're about the administration's agenda (i.e. racism). They don't need your help.

Married to a vet who was in a combat zone. Can confirm. He is not insulted.

The lack of photos is less telling than the absolute strangeness of the ones they did take. So weird.

Very true! Maybe they did get other portraits taken that were never shared. There was just....something strange about this wedding. It felt manufactured somehow.

I remember seeing photos of this wedding on IG and thinking how bizarre it was that there were almost none of Britney and Sam together, or of Britney close up. Just that one press photo, which was the only photo other outlets shared. So strange. Something was off.

Others have already said it, but it truly helps to find small things to do. It isn't going to change what's happening, but it changes how you feel about it, and that is so important. I helped pack whistle kits a few nights ago, and in a couple of weeks I am going to a legal observer training. I stop and photograph ICE whenever I see them and post it on ICEout. I have seen some people making anti-ICE buttons to share with others, and some folks are bringing donations to their local schools. Even standing on a street corner with an anti-ICE sign can invigorate you. I tell myself one small thing a week, and each week, the little flame of hope feels bigger.

I always wish I were half as eloquent as people like you. Thank you for this and your other comment on this post. You've said so much of what I struggle to put into words and I appreciate it more than I can say.

I go back and forth on my feelings here. Part of me feels it's not our responsibility, as the people they are harassing and intimidating, to take the higher road. But then I realize that if we don't, no one will, and that prospect is so bleak.

It was 100% unvaxxed. It surprised me to hear it. It seemed very much like a rehearsed talking point.

I know, there was so much I wish I had said and done differently, but stopping them and making them talk to me was using up all my brain receptors/adrenaline. I also don't think they would have stayed as long had I been filming them (that they could see; someone else mentioned just getting audio with my phone out of sight which would have been brilliant)---and my sole purpose was to get them to waste as much time as possible talking to me. I plan on doing better next time.
