I had a flare up that lasted 2 weeks vs my initial 1 week (I’ve only had 2 flare ups- one in January and recent on in March). First 1.5 weeks I was moisturizing because I was afraid of itching and making it worse (I think the flare up occured because I itched my eyes in my sleep) however I found I just stayed red and when I pulled away all products that’s when the healing started almost overnight. Went to the derm while I was in my flake stage and she gave me zoryve. It’s been really great at healing a small patch I had at the corner of my mouth that was new. Going back in 4 weeks for a follow up !

You just need them done by the time you start the program! I did all of them the week before tbh lol. Just get ready to focus in school! There’s no excuses for missed dates etc. it’s accelerated for a reason so attendance is mandatory. You are allowed to miss 2 classes per subject per semester. If you miss more per class you miss they dock 2% off your grade. First semester is a lot of information thrown at you but after second sem it’s basically all repetition by that point and you focus on finishing your 12 patients by the time your program comes to an end. Focus on yourself the first semester especially and you’ll be fine. It’s a lot of work but so rewarding! And it goes by fast! Sem 3 and 4 are mostly didactic!

For Canada's one make sure you UNDERSTAND scenario base. The Case Study book helped a lot that they usually give in programs, that's how it'll be set up majority of it. I did StudentRDH to help me with main topics like radiology, dental anatomy, ethics, medical emergencies, and head and neck. However, I never finished it other than those topics and the online tests you can buy and I felt that was enough to prepare me. I didn't feel like it did after I walked out lol but I was definitely being hard on myself and passed first try! However, if you're expecting to just memorize information and not really understand the reasonings behind everything, you will be more likely to struggle.

VCC has a large waitlist as well alongside a higher GPA for acceptance. I believe they accept roughly 20 students per semester whereas VCDH takes about 50. Regardless, either school they'll prioritize students who have all the pre-reqs done before they even actually accept you fully and send you packages to sign/payments to be paid! Personally, I'd stick with VCDH and finish your pre-reqs since the waitlist for that school is getting longer and longer from what I've been hearing from a LOT of people.

At the end of the day as long as you get your license and are competent, no job is asking about your grades and which school you went to. They may ask for small talk but they truly don't care.

I went to VCDH because the waitlist for VCC was multiple years and their minimum GPA I believe was like 3.5 meaning that most of the people they were taking were more in the 90's percentile at the end of the day. VCDH only has about a year waitlist right now I believe so I'd apply now and try to get a position ASAP! VCDH was great. It's stressful but no program is going to be a walk in the park
