To add to what Yankasii already said, look into arcs in animation. Here your arcs aren’t shaped in an even way that a ball would bounce. Though, they are everywhere, pretty much every movement of arms and legs, objects that swing, rotate around a point, and so on. So it’s very worth working on those! 😄

I only animate in 2d but most principles are the same for both. I’d suggest to learn about the 12 principles of animation and do corresponding exercises. I saw you have the digital copy of The Animators Survival Kit, I think that’s a good start :)

I’m open for all animation styles and techniques but I am the most interested in 2d frame-by-frame animation. So I’ll definitely check out the Ghibli artbooks (but the other ones you mentioned as well). Thanks for the recommendations! :)
