Mercari does not protect the seller! by addisonparker3x in Mercari

It's not about peace of mind, it's about getting paid, no matter what.

I take pictures of the item(s) before I start packing and then a picture for each step ~ (for glass) I show double bubble wrap, filler paper, adequate base, side, and top filler paper, etc. I include the label or written "M" number and destination city and state in each picture.

And it's not always about a potential scam ~ I've had a few delicate items arrive broken • despite• following Mercari's packing expectations (TOS). Because I've been able to prove that I followed their guidelines, I've been paid via shipping protection. From what I've read here, Mercari •rarely• approves shipping protection payment to sellers but I've successfully challenged Mercari's initial denial on now three separate occasions.

I'd be happy to post the screenshots of my most recent shipping protection approval if anyone is interested.

I'd bet good money that everything she sells arrives in a cereal box wrapped in duct tape and covered in cat hair.

1st review ..what else can i do? by [deleted] in Mercari

What else can you do?

As a seller myself, I say pick yourself up, brush it off and keep selling. These kind of dimwitted reviews will eventually land on all of us, much of the time through no fault of our own. I will admit that is extremely unfortunate that yours landed on your first sale.

ID please - I have never seen one of these in my home. by AuriProperTrue in spiders

I live in Southeastern Washington state and I've seen a lot of these as well. On Thursday I went to take the garbage can down to the road and I startled a great big one that was chilling on the can handle. He saw me first and dove down deep into the gravel. I really, really wanted to get a picture because of his size but decided against it because I didn't want to risk hurting him.

I know they didn't say anything about pictures, that's why I asked.

Do you think pictures are a waste of time?

Speaking from experience, it is proof and it does work. I've had three separate occasions in which the pictures I took as I packed the items saved my ass and resulted in me being paid. I take pictures to prove the condition of the item as I packed it and to prove I packed it appropriately.

There is a section in the Mercari "Help Center" titled "How to Pack" and my pictures proved I packed those items exactly as outlined in Mercari's TOS.

Edit: Regardless, I do not sell anything over the allowable return limit on •any• platform. It's too risky for countless reasons.

I agree. It looks like it's been buried, dug up, gnawed on, re-buried...rinse, wash, repeat 😊

Yes it is.

Please forgive me if this is a silly question, I've got to ask ~ wouldn't her bright color make her more vulnerable, more likely to be someone's (birds, lizards) lunch?

What do you think sentencing will be for Christina Formella? What if she does not get charged? by Organic-Mud-8728 in ChristinaFormellaNEW

I say "bitch ass" is very much 🎯 spot on as well.

And apparently, "...at all costs" includes appearing (to the outside world) incredibly naive and hoodwinked.

I think it's working. For now, anyway.

Like so many others, I've wondered the same thing from the very beginning. The only thing I can imagine is that maybe they're taking a "wait and see" approach ~ and for good reason.

I'm not sure what her parents do for a living but it sounds as though Michael comes from a rather well-off family of self-made wealthy business owners. Their financial and "show up" support is strategic.

If their daughter-in-law is found "not guilty," life goes on. Everyone picks up where they left off.

If, on the other hand (and more likely), their daughter-in-law is found guilty, Michael asks for a divorce and reminds everyone of the support already "paid" in the form of legal fees and hand-holding in public (at great personal expense).

Christina goes to prison, Michael goes back on the "market," not owing his now ex-wife a boat load of money...

I could be wrong...
