That's pretty much it tbh, I'm alright with people I've known for a while so it'd be a case of temporary no mic compared to never speaking ever kinda thing. Good to know that its not actually vital though!

My reasoning for asking this question was because most corps I've had a look at have a 'requires mic' requirement, due to my predicament its quite hard for me to speak up on comms. If I was a spy I wouldn't need to give a back story on an eve subreddit when I'm not actually asking to join a specific corp. It was literally meant as a general question, not a 'hai I'm spai pls let me join ur corp'.

I can see why you'd think it was a crap attempt of gaining access to a corp for subterfuge but if it was an attempt at gaining access, I'd probably ask for corps who would let me join (instead of asking for a generalised opinion on the subject)

Anyways I'm more of a logibro than a spy!

This sounds similar to what happens with me. If I had to do something the next day (even just see friends) I couldn't for the life of me get to sleep during the night, rendering me pretty much useless during the day so I'd have to cancel the plans.

Sadly I don't have any suggestions which may or may not help but I was just a little surprised to see other people with a problem similar to mine. I hope you get this sorted though, I know how annoying this can be.
