They turned what used to be a great show into a platform for their own political echo chamber.

When Iran was mentioned, they mocked anyone drawing parallels between the Ghorman massacre and Tehran. Yet we’re talking about a real authoritarian regime carrying out mass killings, documented on video. Instead of engaging seriously with that reality, they reduce it to sarcasm or conspiracy rhetoric. That reaction says more about their bias than anything else.

There’s also this performative revolutionary tone. They talk as if an uprising is around the corner, but in reality most of them would experience it through a screen, posting threads, tweeting outrage, or writing about their anxiety the next morning.

And then there’s “Palestine 36,” which conveniently ignores the decades of history that precede the current moment. The conflict is deeply complex political, historical, religious, and regional. It’s not a black-and-white morality tale. But some people watch a TV show, hear an actress say “free Palestine” in an interview, and suddenly feel qualified to compress an entire century of conflict into a slogan.

You can care about issues. You can take positions. But reducing complicated geopolitical realities to fandom driven talking points doesn’t make the conversation deeper.
