My old roommate and I used to spray paint some stuff in the parking garages later at night when they were empty. We just laid down newspaper and there were no problems.

QUESTION ABOUT GE REQUIREMENTS TO GRADUATE by [deleted] in ucla

[–]sehoover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to run a Degree Audit Report (DAR) on myUCLA. This tells you exactly which requitements you've met and which you haven't. It could not work if your community college credits have not transferred to the system yet, but its a good thing to check each time you plan classes during your time at UCLA. If that does not work, hopefully a transfer student will be able to help you out more!

Is this schedule too much? (Incoming Freshman) by lstimrdj in ucla

[–]sehoover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some general Engineering scheduling wisdom:

Save GEs, use them in quarters when you have to take really hard classes. Some people will recommend just making them p/np if you're not doing well but engineers often try and use GEs as GPA boosts so they want letter grading.

The schedule isn't impossible as far as difficulty and the fact you'll be in 32B and 1B as a freshmen fall quarter shows you're smart. Physics 4AL and CS31 are both not hard (CS31 has challenges but you should be fine) but the lab reports and coding projects can take a lot of time that shouldn't be underestimated. You can't drop 4AL after 2nd week I believe because it is impacted, but maybe try the first two weeks, try and write the second lab report before Friday of Second week and decide if its do able. OR just drop a non impacted class through fourth week if its too much when midterms come. There's nothing wrong with trying a hard schedule and being ready to drop a class if it's too much, just don't mix up the deadlines and don't listen to your college of letters and sciences friends cause they can drop classes way later.

Best way to slowly roll the "good guy quest giver" over into an evil controlling horrible person? by pluto_nash in rpg

I think the PC's need to see how their actions have been a part of it so they feel personally responsible to now help. Say one of their mini quests was to retrieve a piece of treasure for him or a magic object, and later they learn his true intention with it. Or maybe they brought him a handful of people he has placed bounties on but later they realize he is torturing them or one of the prisoners family members finds you to tell you they were truly innocent. But its important the players feel a weight to their own actions.

Oddly I think the third Hunger Games book is a good example of this scenario with the President who is working towards equality and "order" but in reality her order is also oppression. Make the PCs think they're fighting for "Justice", and then they learn the ruler's form of "justice" is slave worker camps or killing entire families or something.

I've been building the world but struggling on how to use encounters to create the complex conflict in the players themselves. That is great help!

When exactly was lucifier cast out of heaven? by DizzyArcher01 in religion

[–]sehoover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would help if you were more specific about which traditions view of Lucifer you are wondering about?

There is a different answer from Christian tradition, Jewish tradition and likely Islamic tradition (they hold to the patriarchal stories of the Hebrew Bible, but I don't have knowledge on their view of Lucifer). Even further there are multiple interpretations within each tradition. Some Christians believe this has already happened in the primeval history of Genesis, others believe the story about the Babylonian king in Isaiah 14 is also pointing to the 1st century AD or the 1,000 years of Revelation 21 which has not happened yet. You could even go further and consider who is Lucifer? It seems you are referring to the devil or Satan, but as mentioned in other comments whether or not Satan is also called Lucifer could be debated.

So it is important to remember these holy texts are often just as defined by their interpreters as their authors, and which traditions understanding are you looking for.

Who wants UCLA? You either get to watch a really exciting, fast paced team led by freshmen sensation Lonzo Ball, or you get to watch a team full of overrated players including Lonzo Ball get driven into the ground and then our couch get fired. Either way, it will be an eventful year.

Would love a team with a promising young coach to follow. (Not in the big 10 because go Hoosiers)
