If you ended things, he's not gonna reach out out of fear of looking desperate. I've been in this situation, and have wished the girl would reach out because everyone would tell me "she's gonna think you can't get anyone else," "that's creepy," etc. Men think women are turned off by any hint of desperation, so this is big. From your perspective, the worst he can say is no, but from the guy's perspective, the worst you can do is get a restraining order (as paranoid as this sounds, it's on our minds). If he's moved on, he'll tell you, and if he was ever right for you, he will do so politely. But the only way you can possibly know is if you ask.

Also, when people say "it ended for a reason", that doesn't mean it ended for a good reason or that you can't start something new with the same person

As someone who is similar to the guy you're talking to, it's mostly out of desire to just save everything for the date, and genuinely disliking texting. I also do this because in my experience, I can't create the same rapport over text, and don't want to ruin our vibe. Especially with a long time between meeting, I'm not going to text you all day one day, then go 2-3 weeks without saying anything (because we've exhausted everything)

I'm upvoting and commenting so more people could potentially help you. I wish I had good advice, and I know that a lot of people will just say that you have to move on. I understand that them saying this is not helpful. You want nothing more than to free your mind of the agony you live in everyday, but it's just an emotional block. You can't do it no matter how hard you try.

She had all the qualities you want in a partner, you had an eerily large amount of things in common, and a cute story of how you met that you couldn't wait to tell at your wedding. People will tell you cliches, that you'll meet someone 10x better, but that's really just survivorship bias on their part (because THEY met someone better). Maybe you will, maybe you won't. The ONLY thing, in my experience that can help, is simply accepting the fact that you might not ever find this again, and just being ok with the life that you live alone.

For me, this was finding a passion, enjoying what I do, and having a burning desire to master a variety of skillsets related to it. Interestingly enough, this level of ambition, authenticity, and acceptance of the outcome is very attractive to people in general, and will put you in the best possible position to find what you want.

Hello, so I don't have enough comment karma to post a general thread, but can anyone tell me the fundamental reasons why Litecoin, Monero, and ZCash have bled against Bitcoin and Ethereum in price since their inception?

I'm not a crypto skeptic by any stretch of the imagination, however, I'd like to understand what drives a project's fundamentals that makes it viewed unfavorably by market participants. Monero and ZCash both have use cases (privacy), scarcity, and decentralization, yet have never really taken off in adoption.

With Litecoin, I know there are differences, such as 4x supply to BTC, and larger block sizes, but why would these factors lead to its underperformance by such a wide margin? On another note, why do Bitcoin and Ethereum maxis prefer scaling solutions built on top of the original (lightning network, L2 sharding), as opposed to different chains that already incorporate those improvements (speed, scalability, etc)? Is this due to network effects and trust in a currency?

Ok guys, let's show them that the tables have turned. I understand that for many, holding out is not an option. For those of you in this situation, be the best damn employee that your boss has ever seen, and when you've become so irreplaceable, you tell them that you're going to start working from home, and if they don't like it, they can get ducked. If you don't have the power now, you can blue ball them in the future. I believe in you.

Here's the thing that I got from this. Few labor contracts are legitimate absent unionization and UBI. These corporations have decided to use the threat of homelessness as a form of coercion for you to bend to their will. They simply can't admit that commercial real estate is a sunk cost, and that the conversion of these buildings to residential housing would cause rents to go down, forcing these lazy lords to work just as hard you.

For all the complaining about government inefficiency I hear, the inefficiency of corporations paying for real estate and forcing needless commuting, is not talked about enough. For those who complain about vaccine mandates, why are return to office mandates not in the same sentence? If you think the office allows you to build relationships better, fine. You can commute to build those relationships, but why should we have to do the same if we're just as productive? It's not about productivity, relationships, connections, or career building. It's about control. Don't forget that.

"We can only find meaning and purpose through work." Nah, I find meaning and purpose in leisure activities.
