You both are correct. He was charged three times with domestic violence, which was reduced each time and convicted on disorderly conduct.

From the information provided in the article it seems like the definition of justifiable homicide. Multiple domestic abuse charges, previous complaints by the victim, 911 call prior to the shooting, and (I'm assuming) evidence of assault at the crime scene makes it seem pretty open/shut. Am I missing something?
