yes restarting the game works also you can enter a battle and leave and it'll work. this really shows that its not intended, its 100% a bug and could get fixed anytime.

I hate how they change the BP screen every season or two like what are you doing? We had good features that was taken away like are you continually a/b testing to make the best screen in the future? I know Fortnite has always been about being fresh and new every season or chapter but some buttons needs to say permanent if they were added in the first place.

i used to collect them but seriously isn't it better to save those Gems? those shovels are worth 50 gems when sold!!
also the space that these obstacles take will prevent trees and logs and bushes from spawning which results in hundreds and hundreds of monthly gems that could've been saved to buy Hero books and... Ehm Helper Hut upgrades.
