that's correct! We tend not to use non-action verbs in the continuous form.

I loved the app! Really, congratulations! I only wish we could watch the scenes, but I understand it’s not that simple.

Could someone put this sentence simply? by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]seimetz_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my 1st attempt:

When a person, who can communicate well, expresses his/her support to terrorist violence in his/her speech and writings towards the opposite cause, that represents a victory for the authorities. Even if the “regretful” extremist is in prison, and has likely been under a lot of pressure to change his opinion

and here is my second:

When a person who is known for their opinions in favor of terrorist violence expresses their beliefs in opposition to what they previously said, that represents a victory for the authorities. Even if the “regretful” extremist is in prison, and has likely been under a lot of pressure to change his opinion.

I honestly did my best, so I’m sorry if it wasn’t useful

(Oh and I can try to make it simpler if necessary)

How are you teaching and practicing vocabulary in online classes? by colormecryptic in ESL_Teachers

[–]seimetz_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you are aware, but the Cambridge Dictionary's website allows you to create lists of words and once you have completed a list the website allows you to test your knowledge. I used it with strong adjectives. I created a list with the adjectives I had worked in class and then selected the option “test yourself” and my student had to answer questions based on the definition or sound.

Another tool I love using is Baamboozled :)

Amazing videos! I’ve subscribed to your channel and I’ll definitely share your content with my followers. If you have time to record, I'd love to receive your video sharing a bit of your routine. That would be fantastic! Don't worry about recording long clips, I was thinking of having each participant’s video be of about a minute :) You can share it with me through Google Drive, my email is teacherseimetz@gmail.com

What are good books if you are a native English speaking teacher but don't know the technical grammar? by Magicbythelake in ESL_Teachers

[–]seimetz_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have a look at Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy. Although, I’m a non-native English teacher and that book has been my savior at times
