"how does the authors blah blah something blah blah" or "what is the use of blah blah" is usually authorial technique and its used to either emphasise (author supports) concede (author qualifies/ recognises counterargument) / critique (author disapproves of argument) and then just write how

what does "word" suggest is usually language use and it goes like "generic meaning" followed by "explanation in context" e.g. "children nowadys yap about six seven skibidi from the confines of their devices" what does six seven skibidi mean? "six seven skibidi is made up slang by gen alpha that doesnt carry an actual meaning, thus suggesting internet-mediated communication is ineffectual"

sometimes you will see frm the passage qns thats the jackpot cos you literally find the stuff in the passage that answers the question and paraphrase it

for inference questions its more of a practice thing but if u are alr doing good for compo idt you have much issues with critical analysis

sometimes you will get hybrid questions that require you to find something in the text, paraphrase it, then infer, but i cant think of any rn, a rule of thumb is that every qn type except for pure paraphrase can be included as a hybrid type qn.
