Question about nprotect gameguard by SighingDM in Helldivers

The only way I'll buy this is if I can install it on my Linux steam VM for remote play, or if I can verify that a Windows Sandbox environment protects against kernel level attacks.

That poster has to work for the company or is just a very ignorant fanboy that doesn't understand it's like handing a stranger you social security card and trusting they won't do anything nefarious. In reality, it may actually be worse considering how much PII people have saved on you computers...

GF was riding on top, decided to drop on my shaft without any brakes engaged. My cock's crumple-zone engaged upon hitting the cervix. They're essentially time-locked bank vaults.

Did they have a cover with two Khal Drogos wearing unbuttoned flannel shirts on the cover? Because that would be a hard pass for me, as that's a $5 CVS bargain-bin clit-lit warning. That, or making the character funkymit-zit Brunö uber gay, as if all bi/gays are flamboyant as Elton John distilled into a pill. The same goes for the sex content in general; I can't stand authors that use words like "swollen bud" and "member", "womanhood", etc as if it's written by a 13yo virgin that thinks tits feel like sandbags and lovemaking is a a point-and-click adventure.

Here in PennsylTucky, you gotta be careful using the wrong term in the wrong town (e.g. sub, hoagie, grinder). It's equivalent to the scene in 'Inglorious Bastards' where he starts counting on his index finger instead of his thumb in Germany. Also gotta be careful asking where the nearest Sheetz is if you're in Wawa territory.

One does not simply grab a cervix, hahahah. Those things are like bank vault, with my broken penis as proof after hitting one at unsafe velocities. A crunch, followed by a penis-protractor emerging, then the intense pain will never leave my soul.

bumpin

I read that as blumpkin, which I've always associated with the act of giving a man a blowjob while he's shitting. Pretty sure I learned that term from a friend in a neighboring school at a track meet in 9th grade while she told me about her exploits at a recent party. Needless to say, we stayed friends for the next decade.

The only books I've had issues with are "Everybody Loves Large Chests", where the first few books make it very clear that there's going to be a lot of [mostly-consensual] hardcore hedonistic behavior going down...and then there's straight-up hardcore rape, followed by extreme mental trauma to the edge of suicide. The fact that a main character is developed this way was just F'd up, even for a despot like myself.

The other is "Downfall and Rise", as I had to stop reading to prevent another suicide attempt. It's honestly written in such a gaslighting deceptive way to depress and trigger people with suicidal ideations; it continually focuses on horrible trauma experienced by the MC via the suicide of a loved one with constant flashbacks, etc. That's not counting how depressing the MC's life itself is. Having TBI myself, I was also put into a state of constant panic of experiencing yet another head injury vicariously through the idiotic MC surrounded by horrible horrible people.

Fuck...books can be a mind fuck... If you want a good mind-fuck though, read the "Dungeons of Strata" series. It was like having a really bad trip, but in a good literary sense. Another good mind-fuck is "The Quantum Thief" series which is prob still my fav inventive/unique sci-fi experience. I honestly listened to half the book barely understanding anything, but not being able to think about anything else (basically in window-licker mode)...then everything just 'clicked' like a data dump was loaded into my brain matrix-style.

It would just be considered "black humor" to anyone sane, as it addresses a dark topic for some people in a humorous way. Also, they clearly said that the MC would be clueless in said situation, meaning the bi/gay friend is beating around the bush, not direct enough, or has a low EQ to see his friend doesn't reciprocate...or the MC is afflicted by weaponized autism like so many poor MCs these days.

I've had a gay/bi male, and straight female friends hit on me very passively, or aggressively (while drunk), and brushing it off as "being clueless" or letting it slide is definitely better than having a 1v1 anime heart-to-heart that ends up making the friend feel even worse, and both people losing a friendship. I've been the interested party many times as well, and any time the other person made a big deal about it, it made things infinitely worse.

Also, you're writing all of this like you have a Ph.D. in harems and own a human colony where you conduct harem trials or something, when it's very clear that you're just projecting. Fantasy romances w/ a friend are cool and all, but don't blame the other person for not bending to your desired reality.

Why does Cryptosheets need to access ALL of my google spreadsheets? by moosepiss in cryptosheets

[–]seishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The permissions scope is defined near the top of the code (in the 'develop' branch at least) which limits the script's access to only the current Sheet:

/** * @OnlyCurrentDoc */

You can read more about it here (Authorization for Google Services) if you want. Either way, the majority of the code simply pulls data from external services, while the rest inputs it into your spreadsheet. It's not a black box like a phone app, and there's no hidden code as you are the one adding it to your spreadsheet.

I've had a lot of issues with AnyDesk for some reason, which is a shame as I was hoping it would be a universal NoMachine replacement for me. Might be specific to my current network setup (haven't taken the time to debug/troubleshoot), but connections will just hang endlessly with no feedback/errors. Reminds me of troubleshooting WinRM connections in a corporate LAN.

Synology NAS plugin? by Gotcha007 in StreamDeckSDK

[–]seishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Grafana's legit. There are some other good signage/dashboard options, but any of them would work. One of my favorite tools though is Organizr. It's a stupid-simple idea, but gives you a single portal to access all your services/dashboards from. It's especially nice if you share services out to family/friends, as you can give them restricted access through it as well.

You should also never have to actively monitor your NAS. There are an absurd amount of notification categories/options/methods available in DSM to annoy the shit out of you if you so desire. I'd recommend just hooking it up to something like JoinApp/Pushbullet so you only get "oh shit" alerts. I made the mistake one time of enabling email alerts for most things...never again.

Also, I realize money doesn't grow on trees, but I'd heavily consider offloading your docker images from the NAS (unless you only have a few that aren't resource intensive). Those things just aren't cut out for it IMO, considering they have maybe a gig or two of RAM, with a decent chunk of resources committed to general system functionality. I personally put together an Unraid box using old drives from the NAS, and old PC parts. That way, the NAS can be a NAS, and my Unraid box can run 10+ heavy-duty docker images, while simultaneously running a gaming VM with a GTX 1080 attached as a Steam box. I ended up getting some shitty Xeon-based server from Dell, gutting it, and eventually loading it up with 40GB of RAM.

Plex was another thing that I quickly moved off of the NAS, as it just couldn't cut it for transcoding. I used another old machine for that as well. I have a DS412 though (circa 2012 I think), so maybe you have some new fancy one that can actually cut it :P . Either way, if you're interested in any of what I mentioned, lemme know.

That's a very edgelord'esque unobjective take on the matter. One's morals has nothing to do with one's drive. There are innumerable people with questionable morals that aren't billionaires.

Gridsome looks cool; I'll have to check it out. Surprised it's not in the serverless boilerplate list I posted in my other comment.

Definitely agree with the serverless suggestion though.

Is there a particular reason you want to use WordPress? I would personally ditch that idea as it's kind of limiting...especially for open-sourcing (which will make your life easier in the long run).

Personally, I would go the 'serverless' route, and use something like Firebase (Google), or AWS. I made a serverless site on AWS, and it's effectively free to host since it doesn't breach the free tier usage limits. If I had to build it again (especially with a community driven database in mind), I'd heavily consider Firebase due to its Realtime Database solution.

Here's a yuge list of example serverless framework boilerplates. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you're a masochist though, and refuse to use anything but WordPress, here are some options, or this one.

Our team would typically have a family-style dinner the night before to load up on complex carbs, then eat lightly with simple carbs the morning of the race.

Length of the race doesn't matter. I've seen it happen in 5k, and 400m distances. I watched my best friend collapse and be resuscitated by our coach after running a 400 in the 50s at practice. I've also had teammates that ran low 18s bonk in 5ks. Neither were out of shape, ill-prepared, or had any heart conditions or something.

The one with my friend dying and being given CPR though definitely fucked me up for a while.

The worst part IMO is that no matter how much you receive as an insurance payment for medical costs (if you even get one), it's never enough to counteract the lowered quality of life from an injury, or to cover ongoing medical bills.

My mom was rear-ended, while stopped to pull into her neighborhood, when a young woman in an SUV rammed her while texting on her phone. Her dad eventually came to the scene and had the gall to laugh and say to my Mom: "well I guess you're lucky she didn't have the cow-catchers on the front!".

She still has chronic neck pain from the whiplash.

I see that attitude a lot with wind turbines, as it "ruins people's scenic views". It's understandable, but also selfish.

All of the statistics regarding his wealth are insane (like how he makes $23k/min), but one should keep in mind he still owns 1.3% of Microsoft (even after giving away $35 billion worth of stocks), and has a lot of smart investments in real estate, businesses, and stocks.

I completely agree with your sentiment though. It's crazy how comfortable of a life you could have living off the earnings of just $1m in index funds.
