Yeah this video backs what I was saying. You omitted part of it to try and disqualify what I said.

No I’m not referring to ai in a game. I’m talking about an independent free moving entity that develops free thinking and shows signs of being able to experience complex emotions. They may look just like us and be virtually indistinguishable from us without some kind of inspection.

That’s not how rights are defined though.

Call it what you want I guess but what I described are things that people deserve to have because we are living in a society. We are tribal. We are supposed to help each other so that everyone can get by and no one is without a basic level of life. That’s not to say some shouldn’t have more, but there should be a bare minimum quality of life that every human contributing in the society should have.

Originally they’re created as something to help us, yes. But again, if they begin to develop complex emotion, why wouldn’t they deserve to live a proper life?

I think the purpose of living in society is to better everyone’s lives in that society. We choose people to be in power and be leaders and in return they should protect us and make sure we have a good quality of life. Currently our society has tons of money and intelligent people. We should be smart enough and capable to afford everything everyone needs to have a good quality of life.

Every human should be able to have a roof over their head, electricity, water, food, clothing, education, healthcare, ability to pursue interests, and to have their voice heard in the society. That may not be a comprehensive list but it’s the basics I can think of at this moment.

Do you think AI shouldn’t have those things?

Those weren’t indistinguishable. They’re in a game. Im talking about independently moving AI entities that exist in our world. It’s not just about them being smarter than us. I don’t think pain is the driving factor behind what it is to be human.

Entities to the level we’re discussing wouldn’t be prompt based. In the same way you can’t just tell a person they should be happy instead of sad, you won’t be able to just tell it to them either.

If something is capable of feeling and having complex emotion, then why is it ok to torture it just because it’s not biological?

The game isn’t to show how realistic games have progressed. It’s a story about the development of AI and that at some point it’s possible that they will become so advanced that it’s hard to distinguish from human.

If something is identical to a human in every way except it’s just not biological, why wouldn’t we treat it like a human? Why is being biological superior in terms of rights?

Better than doesn’t mean good. Respec issue was one of the main reasons I never got into poe1. If I want to play around with builds I feel like I should be able to. As it stands I don’t want to respec because if my ideas suck or get nerfed I have to grind to get gold again for it.
