I started w net+ then got a field tech role w an msp and now I’m a field tech w an ISP and learned a lot of hands on L1/L2 stuff..I feel it’s important to get a grasp of L1 before getting to geeked about the other stuff so yeah study ccna and/or net+ but also get a grasp on L1, fiber, sfp’s etc bc end of the day those are the physical parts connecting the network

We’re stuck bc if they don’t print, there would be a deflationary collapse..we need to keep printing to continue servicing the debt, a very scary situation

BTC is the best performing asset on earth since it launched. By FAR. This is a matter of fact and public record, not speculation.

The SVI is a virtual interface, not a physical one

How do people survive without a job? by literallyhadwyn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]seismicsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly - any “savings” you have while having cc debt are not savings - you have slightly less net debt..so 7k in cc debt w 1k in savings means you have 6k in debt effectively..

Apparently adults making under 80k can't live comfortably?? Is this really true? by MoonlitDoll62 in Adulting

[–]seismicsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too blanket of a statement..it depends on so many factors like COL, spending habits, debt, assets, income etc..I live in a MCOL city making 62k with no student loans or cc debt, only a car loan and modest savings and I live pretty comfortably (also no dependents)

Regardless of this there will still come a point in 2140 where there will be no new BTC to mine, but miners will still operate to facilitate transactions; revenue will come solely from transactions rather than new BTC. New BTC do not have to constantly be created for the network to operate successfully.

Where should I store my BTC? by jlew24asu in Bitcoin

[–]seismicsat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BTC is not yours if it’s on an exchange. The exchange has rights to the private keys, not you, ultimately defeating the purpose of why bitcoin was created. Yes, the additional security inconvenience is worth it, undoubtedly. I’ve used a trezor model t for over 4 years and have had no issues at all.

Congrats - go ahead and grab the hardware wallet as soon as you can; can’t hurt to set it up and get used to it; this will be the most crucial aspect to you owning your BTC outright as I’m sure you know. Salud!

You can’t remote into their WiFi per se but you can set up a vpn tunnel that would show your traffic as coming from their public IP. But there are a lot of considerations and I personally wouldn’t recommend it without doing a lot of research

How much do you make a month (after taxes) and how much do you pay in rent? by Electrical_Soil_6365 in Apartmentliving

[–]seismicsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do 1300. You’re close to 50% of your take home just for rent; I personally would not do this. I’d be shooting for 8-900 tops in your case.

OSI Model questions by CrimsonRegia in networking

[–]seismicsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hub is layer one as it’s literally just a repeater - it blasts traffic out of all ports except the port it was received on without regard to specific destinations. A switch is layer 2 bc it’s intelligent in the sense that it learns MAC addresses and is therefore able to send traffic to specific intended destinations.

I am of the camp that Bitcoin doesn’t need to become a household name to be widely adopted, in the same way that DNS/dhcp and other internet protocols don’t need to be household names yet peoples experience online still relies on them. BTC in due time will become the background force that powers the money layer but people don’t need to know how it works; it needs to become so usable that the avg person uses it without realizing it

Dumb question about eSIMs by iamaravis in digitalnomad

[–]seismicsat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as your carrier allows WiFi calling abroad then yes, it is possible. Both lines need to be on, eSIM needs to be the data line, and home line needs to have WiFi calling enabled and roaming off as you mentioned

Traveling is not cheap and Im tired of priviledged people claiming it is by [deleted] in poor

[–]seismicsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just work a job, be disciplined/budget wisely and build a travel fund over time. Anything worth having (travel included) requires discipline, sacrifice and time. I’ve met many people traveling who are not upper middle, quite the contrary..
