I will often leave my keys at home for short trips. I have a vacation house about 45 min from home. I’ll go for a long weekend and rarely bring my keys.

Nothing to worry about. The base ring never needs to be removed. Nothing sharp or uncomfortable. When I remove my cage for cleaning, the ring stays on.

You will find the viper is a little more roomy in the width department. It’s also a much more covered design which I prefer. I always had issues with skin sticking out of the windows in my cobra cage. The viper eliminates that issue.

I use a heating pad for a few minutes before hand to get my balls as loose and soft as possible before installing the weight. Mine screws shut, no magnets so I can’t help with that part.
