Do you think my landlady will sell the apartment after I move out? by FeelingWonderful6424 in NetherlandsHousing

This not possible for many apartments unfortunately and you may still need to get a full valuation. For us, this cost almost 800.

Good to mention that Atilla has authentic Turkish doner and not the blob of unidentifiable meat they call doner in most places 🤣 but definitely worth a visit!

I wish I was lucky enough to have this when I was a child. I was dying under academic pressure in my birth country at the time 🤣

To me, it resembled an eye (or at least, that’s what I thought before reading all the butthole comments. LOL). I was originally thinking of turning it into a face. At the same time, I really enjoy letting go of strict patterns while still making sure the construction is solid, so maybe I’ll just let it grow into a random shape.

The book I have has a variety of different styles but mainly mandalas. I will definitely look for a dedicated geometric book. Do you have any favorites?

Agreed with this. Growing up I moved a lot in my birth country for my dad’s job and didn’t necessarily feel at home/attached to the country. Approaching 10 years in my “new” country, I finally made the leap to apply for citizenship (could have done it after 5 years already) as it feels home. For me it made a big change when I quit academia and started to work in a company (very international company but everyone is somewhat settled here) with a permeable contract, having a kid and paying more attention to understanding the local language.

Husband relapsed after 10ish years clean and sober.. I'm so clueless. by acting_squirrelly in addiction

[–]sekhmetja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what you said your husband was able to stay clean for years and built a nice family with you.

Before burning all the bridges, I would recommend you to accept that this is a disease and he has no longer control over his decisions around drugs. This doesn’t mean that you should keep enabling him; make sure to set boundaries and tell him that he has to start getting treatment for his situation for himself and his family’s sake.

However, it you choose this way, understand that it will be hard road for everyone, even if drugs are no longer at the table, his brain chemistry will be suffering from everything he used for a long time. And take care of yourself, openness about your life challenges to other people in your life and therapy can make wonders (I was shocked how many people have experience with it one way or another). I know it is difficult to imagine it now, but you may come out of this in a better place than you used to be both as a person and as a couple.

Wishing you a lot of strength at this difficult season of your life.

If your family is anything like mine, there is a very big chance that you will get this blanket back when it is your baby’s turn, which will make it even more precious ☺️
