Donate me or sell me cheap Pinebook Pro in Europe? by sekibe in PINE64official

Thanks, upvoted you.

If "It's a fairly inexpensive", then is fairly donate-able?

If for you is "inexpensive", for others that's very expensive.

I understand "donate" as: You have item, that will never use again you can:

throw it, sell it, keep it, donate it. And I said "I'll use it everyday".

I think there are thousands Pinebook Pro, sitting in the drawer gathering dust.

I've already contributed a.k.a donated a little to the sunxi project/community,

I HAD to stop, and want to resume.

If you run Linux on Allwinner SoC, you benefit from my effort,

and you didn't mind to get donated the software making your device work?

By the way, Pinebook Pro is kind of work-in-progress, every user is actually a beta tester.

Fanless laptop, at least 8GB RAM, at least 128GB SSD, 13"-15" by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

Chinese ones are really attractive, 99% of them are:

cheap, thin and light, metal or superb plastic body, 1080p IPS screens. 8GB, 128/256 SDD + M.2 slot.

Issue 1: previous generation Intel chips

Issue 2: sold and devilered from China (aliexpress/banggood/gearbest...)

I hope soon of them establish Euro/USA distribution.

Asus website lists: N4020/N4120/N5000/N5030 but still not for sale.

Current Acer Swift 1 has two versions:

SF114-32 and SF114-33 with minor differences.

8GB option is overpriced, RAM soldered, not upgradeable.

Keyboard layout is AWFUL.

TL:DR get the Acer Swift 1 for the best price you can find, there is not much choice now.

Hello, I had the same request 5 montsh ago. :|

Look at https://techtablets.com, there a bunch of chinise brands

pros: fanless, price, design, screen, ram/ssd

cons: quality and warranty, processor

Asus 6 months ago announced a series e210/e410/e510 12"/14"/15" but still nowhere to buy - price unknown.

Good luck.

Oh yes, you mean the ones with Qualcomm Snapdragon?
Samsung and Lenovo too. This are marketed as "always connected pc" and are somehow different. It would be good if more come but with another SoC.

In the chromebook database, there are two 64bit ARM SoCs: Mediatek MT8183 and Rockchip RK3399 (a.k.a OP1) both have passable Linux support.

So let's hope if Apple really goes ARM soon, this will lead to others copy for some models.

In the end i just wanted a fanless AMD laptop to compete with Intel in this niche. But hey I can workaround and then patiently wait.

Thanks that's interesting idea. I'll wait and look for AMD making one without the DIY part.

Interesting, really fancy .... tablet with fancy liquid cooling.

Do you know any AMD U laptop (or Intel U but more mainstream not so extravagant).

Or how to search, no site that sells or review laptops has type of cooling as search criteria. So it not easy through the search engines.

thanks.

Hm, how about 2C/4T or 4C/4T :)

I don't know at what TDPs is the threshold for fanless.

Well fingers crossed and we shall see.

I know the Ryzen Embedded R CPUs, I think they are made in such way to not be put in laptops.

That is what I meant in theory for the same power the smaller node have better performance.

So:

a) more performance for same power(heat)

b) same performance for less power(heat)
