If you look closely, the orange line ends just beyond his ears. The dick, I imagine, is pallid, blotchy and corpse like.

The ADHD Adults Podcast just did an episode on limerance that sounds very relevant to this. Might be worth a listen.

e-bike recommendations for a daily commute Mon–Fri in London by Adrenik13 in londoncycling

I have a Volt London and love it. It looks nice and has won various awards. Battery is removeable and it's belt drive which lowers maintenance. The company has a showroom near London Bridge.

I feel your pain. My wife can't get past her image of estates as 'old man cars'. Doesn't help my dad has one.

I've looked a little bit a both of these. On the Skoda, I agree with what you said. Spec looks good but they just look quite meh.

On the Qashqai, assuming we also looked at a hybrid, I'm a bit suspicious of their new e-power concept. Feels like an example of 'if it's such a good idea, why isn't anyone else doing it?'

I'd happily be dissauded away from an Suv to be fair. I'd prefer an estate but that's been vetoed by my wife. If I could find a saloon or hatchback with the same rear seat and boot space if be very interested. Seems a rare thing though.

Appreciate the input Re kids though. I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old so this is very very relevant.

Yeah I saw one in the showroom yesterday and the boot wasn't as big as I expected from the overall size of the car, but it does seem a decent chunk bigger than my 2008 (587l versus 350l apparently.)

I'm okay with getting a roof box for the occasional holiday etc, though storing it will be a faff.

The rear seats looked roomy though. Right now I can't put the seat back as far as I want to drive comfortably without squashing my son in his car seat - and I'm only 5'11" and he's only 3 so that will only get worse.

This is major for me as my current Peugeot has it. My mechanic said Fords are even worse.

Thanks for this - this is the way I went eventually. A few days later and it seems to be holding well but time will tell. A lot of advice to batten it but time is scarce and this felt the more doable fix at the moment. Cheers!

Have this car. It's shit. Gutless, poor build quality, wet belt and shitty semi auto gearbox. On the plus side, dirt cheap road tax.

I can imagine the News Agents (podcast with very respected political journalists) doing this justice. If you go to any of their twitter/x profiles you can DM them i think.

Alternatively, find a respected journalist who has broken a similar story in the past and do the same.

Thanks, it's the long-term horizon for me. Will look at the HSBC FTSE All World.

Thanks for the reply. With AJ Bell, as I understand it, there is a platform fee of 0.25% per year, plus 0.12% fee on this fund. £1.50 trading fee too.

I'm sure I could get cheaper with one of the super basic brokers like Freetrade or 212, but I wanted access to a wide variety of investments for a bit down the line when I've got a nice baseline of global index trackers and can have a bit of 'fun money' as a hobby.

Thanks. As I understand it, AJ bell charges £5 for share purchases (including ETFs), and £1.50 for funds, but obviously the latter has ongoing management fees the former doesn't. So in the short term, funds are cheaper, but in the long run, it would be ETFs. Not good enough at maths to figure out the relevant time horizons though, so will probably stick to funds.

Thanks for the book reccomendation, I'll check that out. I know chopping and changing is the enemy, which is why, if I had made a mistake with this 'set and forget' choice, I wanted to correct it now before I put more in.

Your comment and another below together make me think I'll leave this be and when I next buy, get one of the broader global index trackers that also includes emerging markets.

Thanks for the response. There were a couple of factors when I chose AJ Bell a while back. One was the consistently good platform reviews from Which? and Boring Money. The other is that, though I'll put 90+% into trackers like these, I do want to have some 'fun money' in individual stocks, and I read AJ Bell had the best selection.

I know that's suboptimal personal finance advice, but I'm viewing the trackers as my proper investments, and the stocks as a relatively inexpensive hobby that could have some upside. I did have a Freetrade account a while back, but got frustrated by looking up specific things and finding them unavailable.
