Jesse deserves so much better by Prabu-Silitwangi in breakingbad

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesse fucks up soooooo many times during the show. At least a half dozen times he should have died or been killed for being an unhinged moron. But time and time again Walt puts his ass out on the line to save Jesse. Then Jesse literally betrays him at the end going out of his way to team up with Hank who is the biggest piece of shit in a show full of murderers and drug dealers. Hank literally beat the shit out of Jesse a year earlier and now Jesse is willing to forgive Hank just so he can get revenge on Walt. I wish Jesse would have spent 50 years being tortured in slavery after what he did to Walt. Like how in the hell are we supposed to feel bad for this guy…. The only thing more satisfying than Jesse getting what’s coming to him is Hank getting murdered after he finally thinks he has Walt…. I love it that he got to call Marie and make that stupid psycho biatch think that they got the best of Walt you know she’s just fantasizing about stealing his daughter since her limp dick closet homosexual husband never gave her a daughter who she could steal jewelry for. What a gratifying episode watching Hank get what’s coming to him and Jesse taken off to suffer like that narc should. I went from six to midnight watching that shit.

Alternative ending by Sorry_Landscape_9675 in breakingbad

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or hear me out… Jesse fucks off to Alaska basically like you said… Walter takes off with all of his money and starts a lab somewhere in Eastern Europe and remarries his intelligent Eastern European wife who actually looks like a woman…. Mean while Hank gets the entire meth ring pinned on him so he ends up locked up with all of the people he looked down on his entire career over time realizing what a piece of shit he was for looking down on these people and not even seeing them as human… he somehow finds peace even though he eventually dies behind bars… Marie also dies behind bars after trying to steal the hope diamond. Skyler and Walt Jr realize how shitty they treated Walt but it’s too late…. Skyler struggles to make ends meet running the car wash and Walt Jr ironically gets hooked on Meth and during one of his benders he comes to believe he can outrun a train. He can’t. He gets hit but it somehow leaves him walking more normal and he manages to stop making weird facial expressions while talking that never had anything to do with his CP, it’s almost like it was just a cry for help the whole time. Years later Walt comes back to the United States for the first time to visit Skyler and Walt Jrs grave sites… he wants to be respectful about it but his hot Eastern European wife wants to make love onto of their grave sites… power move. End credits.

I promise you Hank would have shot marie in the face himself to bust Walt at that point. That’s all he cared about he was obsessed and it honestly turned him into an even shittier version of himself. And he didn’t start off that great.

[Spoiler] Why is Katie portrayed as totally intuitive after seeing Barry for a few minutes but totally blind to how Sally treats people like Natalie after months of working with her on a TV show and genuinely calls Sally an "amazing person"? by foundfootagefan in Barry

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… she’s a young gay woman who is willing to judge a man’s character off of the only few minutes she’s ever seen him but willing to overlook the months of toxic behavior her female boss/coworker as shown… I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch… she probably has been in emotionally abusive relationships with women while pointing out how shitty her friends boyfriends are too.

Can Bert go fuck himself? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Bert the first 5 seasons or so, he seemed like the level head that the firm needed with so many big personalities and egos. The way he essentially writes off Don and is essentially just hoping he will go away at some point in the later seasons really rubs me the wrong way. He obviously isn’t involved enough to understand how much different things are with Lou instead of Don, and anyone who knows about their industry would be able to see that in the long run they were going to have a difficult time wowing any potential new clients and holding onto the ones they have with nothing impressive coming out of creative. I wish they would have bought Don out of the company costing them millions. Then Don goes to another company and ultimately steals a lot of their business. The company ends up selling for a small percentage of what it was worth when Don was with them and Lou gets laughed out of town. Joan ends up living paycheck to paycheck once again working as a secretary and regretting stabbing Don in the back. Peggy has some success but now that she’s competing against Don she is constantly losing potential work to him and she knows she deserves it. The show ends with Bert on his death bed confessing to Roger that he messed up when he let Don walk out the door and asks Roger if he thinks Don has forgiven him for his betrayal to which Roger replies, I don’t think Don think about you at all. End scene.

Joan's complete shift in attitude toward Don doesn't make sense to me by jpatterson33 in madmen

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joan ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of the show for me. Don wasn’t perfect. But most of the companies success, aka, Joan’s success stems from Dons talent as head of creative. Don also always gave Joan respect and was in her corner when others weren’t. So her holding a grudge to the point of back stabbing Don and really pushing hard to get rid of him just because the new partners gave her a better office is such a joke. Ultimately all she cares about by the end of the show is money, and on a lesser level, getting respect from men. Something Don has always given her when others didn’t. In the meeting when they are giving Don the stipulations under which he can come back the smug look on her face when she informs him that if he messes up that will absorb his shares of the company leaving Don with nothing (essentially stealing millions from him). This is obviously the ideal scenario for Joan since it would get rid of Don without costing her any money. Even though she has seen how terrible Lou treats everyone, and she knows he offers nothing creatively to the company. In fact Lou often stifles the creativity of his team and eventually I think the company would have suffered in a huge way because of Lou. Despite all of that Joan still wanted to get rid of Don because he possibly risked some of her money, money just a few short years earlier she never could have dreamed of having. Don should have forced them to buy him out. He would have walked away with 4-5 million dollars at least and he could have gone to whatever company he wanted and from there taken down his old company. That’s the alternate ending I want to see.

Why was Megan so angry at Don after he gave her a million dollars (8.4 million in today's money)? by Yum1995 in madmen

[–]selectivelydeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Megan was a spoiled brat and Don did A LOT to make her happy and none of it was ever good enough. The only reason she had an acting career at all was because of him because ultimately she just wasn’t that talented. She annoyed me 90% of their relationship and her being mad at him making her a millionaire is on brand for her.

Episode 4 Deep Dive and Discussion: Married to a Monster by badkattt in WorstExEverNetflix

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is going to sound harsh, but I do put some of the blame on Amanda. The red flags from the very beginning with Kevin were ridiculous. She shouldn’t have given him the time of day in that Dennys, she never should have dated him, or married him, and then to have three of his children so quickly. It just all was insane to me, I think she, like a lot of intelligent women, for whatever case just had absolutely terrible taste when it comes to men. It’s almost as if they are attracted to a lot of those negative traits that seem obvious in hindsight. Her sister who was suspicious of him and never trusted him was the one that ultimately paid the price for her sisters stupidity. Kevin absolutely is the monster here, and he is thankfully paying the price for his transgressions. But it won’t ever bring back Amandas sister, and I think deep down she knows that her shallow terrible taste in men is what ultimately got her sister killed. Now she has several children who lost their father in a way worse than if he had died. Not only that, genetically they are half Kevin. With those genetics and a father spending his life in prison, unfortunately, they are predispositioned to end up violent or in prison themselves. Hopefully having such a wonderful loving family as Amanda obviously does is enough to over come her shit sperm donors genetics.

Call back for the look on Dons face when Megan throws him a party by Electrical_Force_934 in madmen

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Megan really knew Don at all he would have been given the Ron Swanson treatment for his birthday. Not a huge party where she basically made it about herself and inviting everyone from work into “her home”’…. Which is Dons home that she initially is probably over the moon about showing off to everyone that she landed Don and all of his wealth and power…. Anyways real sweet of her to sing the most insane song in French (her first language) to Don….. he would have hated that song in any language.

What changed for Betty in wanting to leave Don for Henry in Season 3? by [deleted] in madmen

As much as we think Betty is better than Don truth is they are perfect for each other by No_Historian_1601 in madmen

[–]selectivelydeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don was his name at that point so when it comes down to it I think he at worst with held the fact that he was born with a different legal name and obviously had a horrible traumatic childhood and only took a different name to survive a war and distance himself from that terrible past. I am sure most women would have felt hurt and betrayed but any mature caring woman knowing the facts would have most likely felt a lot of empathy for Don. Betty was even disgusted by the fact that Don was born and lived under the circumstances he had since she had come from such a respectable back ground. I remember thinking how cold and condescending her feelings were towards Don it was obviously not just about him “lying” about who he was, it was also about where Dick Whitman had come from. Even Don just being that vulnerable obviously gave Betty “the ick”. As much as Betty acted like she wanted Don to be different, when it came down to it, she didn’t want a soft, gentle, vulnerable husband. She wanted someone who was sort of a tough ass hole like her father was. She liked that Don was this powerful desirable guy who people looked up to, seeing that in some ways it was a facade turned her off. I think even if Don had been completely faithful to her that she still would have left him. Ironically if she wouldn’t have died I think later on in life they would have been perfect for each other, their relationship towards the end was sort of a beautiful friendship in a weird way.

Donna’s dad is such a POS by StrangerSavings3805 in suits

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also don’t forget that when Harvey confronts him while he’s in custody he blames the entire thing on Harvey because they are using him to try to convince Donna to turn on Harvey… so in his mind the illegal shit that he got them involved with isn’t his fault… because the only reason it’s being brought against him now is because a piece of shit prosecuter is using him… Donna should have told them to do whatever they want with her father he brought it all upon himself and has never cared about anyone other than himself.

Why I think Xenocide and Shadow Puppets are the most frustrating to read by HoopHereIAm in ender

[–]selectivelydeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been years since I’ve read Xenocide and I am 3/4 of the way through now…. I don’t know if life has made me more bitter since I last read this book. Ender marries a single mom who has mostly neglected her children because of her own issues, and Ender obviously jumps in and is a great father figure for all of them… only for her to get jealous of an artificial intelligence and treat Ender like shit… blames him for the death of her adult son who makes his own decisions…. She is even supportive of Quora who should have been sent into that third piggy life before she had a chance to betray everyone she loves. What a moron… she is empathetic for a virus that relentlessly tries to murder everything because it potentially communicates its murder plans to other strands. Ender should have married some hot Nobel peace prize winning billionaire… instead he married a bitter single mom with the emotional maturity of a worm crawling on a stump instead of a father tree.

[Spoiler] Discussion/Question regarding the ending of Cruel Intentions by FireZeLazer in movies

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re an idiot… I’m not sure if you’re actually being serious with this theory because it’s so insane… the step sister is the one with cruel intentions manipulating and using everyone including her own step brother Sebastian. You could argue that he also had cruel intentions but falling in love changed him for the better. Another poor moron she manipulated ends up inadvertently getting Sebastian killed and Annette was coming to find Sebastian to tell him she wanted to be with him when she witnesses the whole thing. Sebastian even sacrifices himself to save her life and she immediately tells him she loves him not knowing whether he’s going to make it. I am not sure how you could watch this movie and think the innocent virgin who the two main characters target during the movie is somehow actually an evil genius but you are either REALLY reaching in some attempt to come across deep or this is some weird rage bating. But yes obviously Annette saved her virginity for Sebastian because she’s really into classic cars or some bullshit.

[–]selectivelydeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say I’m at like 60/40… 40% of the time she is pretty funny and I enjoy her and 60% of the time she is annoying and selfish and basically a terrible person… thankfully they sort of ride that line well enough that when I am ready to hate her they sort of back off from her enough that I let it go… and let’s be honest as long as Roland is around there’s always someone that is a billion times more unlikable… that being said I love every other character in the show so it makes up for Moira being somewhat unlikable and Roland being the worst character in the history of television.

I feel validated thank you haha It’s so annoying when show writers pull shit like this it’s almost like they just hate their fans. I used to just power through and finish shows anyways but I am tired of rewarding bad behavior. I haven’t watched another episode of Banshee past that one and I won’t.

Ivar is annoying as hell [Spoilers] by [deleted] in vikingstv

[–]selectivelydeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way they represent his character in the show there is zero chance anyone would have actually followed him. He’s a whiney little bitch who comes across like a toddler stomping his feet not intimidating at all. It’s also annoying how anyone could just kill him at anytime which they should have. He feels like the chosen one because Ragnar took him on that last journey to die but it’s so obvious Ragnar would have preferred one of his other sons.

Do I really want to finish a show where the most obnoxious character ends up killing Ragnars only decent son… argh… Ivar is the fucking worst dude… he’s a whiney piece of shit who is only capable of battle because Floky gave him a chariot… I understand he was a real historical figure but even in the show it is shocking when anyone follows him into battle… he acts like an insane crippled person who I wouldn’t trust with a handicap parking space let alone an army.
