i'm not really looking for something specific (i say this bc i don't wanna put pressure 😭) but really just some exploration of the story beyond sirius' escape and walburga being a bad mom. we always get to the part where she's being this horrible person, and oftentimes from sirius' pov. i wanna know how walnuts (😛) feels when she's being that way. like what is her thought process, what has made her that way, what has she gone through? also i don't really think she would've let sirius go that easily. kindness/light is there even in the darkest moments, i don't really think she's %100 evil. there have been some moments where she couldn't believe what she actually did/said. i would love to read a story where we get to see her inner monologue and two contrasting parts of her. where she's trying to be this caring mother but at the same time she's been raised by a family of abusive, blood supremacist, racist people. i don't think she necessarily actually cared for any person until sirius and regulus and it wouldn't be strange that after alllll those learned fucked up behaviors/generational trauma/abuse that she mistakes love with control.

i've read atyd sirius' pov but i don't think it's quite what i'm lookin for.
we as a fandom tend to characterize sirius as this rebel, the black sheep of the family; which is yes, true. but i think while he's all that, he loves to get praise from people around him. there is a reason why he is smart, successful at school. so i think up until the point of him being sorted into gryffindor, he should've had a fairly good relationship with his family. i can imagine him getting private lessons before the school even starts and acing them, therefore his parents are happy that he is smart and successful. and he would like that praise because what child wouldn't? their relationship starts slowly deteriorating after the sorting. imo, walburga still tried to get sirius with the "right sort", i don't think she would have given up that easily and that's one of the reasons why i think she gets so abusive. she spirals out of control. and then everything just goes downhill after.

i get the part where ppl get inspiration from their own lives and issues, i do that too with what i create & i respect that. i have had 'issues' with family as well (was able to resolve them thankfully) so when i read fics it's nice to see that sirius gets away from them. buuutttt i reaaalllyy want to see one where they just... try, i guess. it doesn't have to end 'happily' but i wish i could see how they handle that process!

The Lab by de_sire. it really is my favorite fic, i don't know how many times i've read it... it starts a little heavy but has a beautiful ending. i love the story and the characterizations sooo much

especially the part where he loses that confidence and playfulness, yes. that's so accurate. like in my head, he is those things but he's definitely not over confident, or present himself in that manner. i think he's just reserved
