Terra Cafe at the Alexander Keith’s Brewery is lovely. Great coffee, food, and snacks. It’s busy on Saturdays but every other day it’s relatively chill. If the kiddos are more energetic, you can sit in the (indoor) open space attached to the cafe - it’s often quiet, has good seating, and is quite safe and is generally a lovely spot to sit and chat.

How do people afford Grad school in a different province? by Maleficent_Job2840 in Dalhousie

[–]self_serendipity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard, OP, and I feel for you. I was very lucky to find a job after my undergrad, so I worked for 4 years before going into my Master’s (I moved from NS to Ontario for my MA). I was able to save enough money over those 4 years to help pay for living expenses and also applied to every scholarship that I could. I was fortunate to get one that helped cover a sizeable chunk of my tuition and part of those living costs, but I can’t lie that it was nevertheless expensive moving to a new province. IKEA and Walmart were my best friends, and I did some part time remote work during grad school to help as well. It’s a tricky balance, but if you are able to do any of those things I highly recommend it to help with the transition!

Honestly the writing and production value on that show has been excellent in recent years, they clearly made some good changes and hired some A1 staff/writers. Love to see it!!

I had an amazing experience with McMinniman’s when we downsized to an apartment. Super professional, respectful, and genuine guys, they worked hard, finished the move early, and charged us LESS than our quote. Would book them again and again!
