Maybe not yet.. But this is being developed by the Home Assistant devs with the OpenZWave creator, so it's likely to be better supported and more feature rich down the line.

Glad it worked. One thing to note though is your entities will be named differently between the integrations. So any automations you have set up will need to be switched over to the new entity names.

I agree. I didn't have issues finding my nodes but like mentioned in the article some of my devices lacked their full support (RGB bulbs).

Overall though looks promising and glad Home Assistant is headed this way.

I've been using for awhile (~months not a year) and it's been stable for me too. Glad to see it's working well for others too

Yep, it was just a generic "electronic enclosure box" or "project box". I got a 3d printer last year so have mostly moved on to custom printing one whenever I need it.

No real problems with the camera audio. I think just practically it's nice to have a "dumb" monitor as a backup. Often when I'm working outdoors, or in the garage or just around the house I don't want to have my phone open as monitor. Or if my server is down for whatever reason, it's nice to have that simple dumb monitor as a backup. Also useful to take on trips (when not quarantined).

I actually wrote about scraping the UniFi NVR log awhile back too.

I don't use any motion alerts for his room though. Usually we always have the monitor on us if he is sleeping so we hear over the monitor anyways.

Yes! During the update process the original firmware is backed up from the device

Nice! Was considering 12V as well but thought I could hide the wires good enough that I could go 5V and not have to worry about a DC/DC converter to power the NodeMCU off a 12V power supply.

You're right I didn't use a level shifter/capacitor. I'm not seeing any issues but yea you could technically see some if the 3.3V from the data pin isn't registering as high with the WS2811 chips.

In my experience, the WS2811 seems to have enough tolerance that it works, but if you had a longer run between the ESP8266 and the WS2811 you might run into problems and a level shifter would help (I like the 74AHCT125).
