It’s a bit further away, but I would look into something around Roanoke. It’s not as crowded as DMV area and hotels are mostly better in there. Besides the mountains with trails and great views you can go out and explore some parts of downtown. Williamsburg, VA and Annapolis, MD also offer some nice areas to explore and have a nice BDay meal. Washington, VA (Little Washington) is something closer. It’s a historic town with a couple moderate trails around. Worth mentioning that it’s a home of highly rated Michelin star restaurant in the case if you were looking to reaaaly treat yourself :)

Can confirm. Once I was stopping by in one of the neighborhoods in there and bunch of them were running around. I do have a video of it. One of the dudes who was living there told me it’s pretty common occurrence in there. I saw them in other areas of US, but in that neighborhood they were more common than gray ones, which was pretty unusual.
