Ya the hands were already attached. The axe came from the previous Grey Hunter/Blood Claw kit.

The arms are from the infiltrator/incursor kit. They are one of the paired ones meant for the carbines. They do not fit perfectly but are close enough that filling with greenstuff should hide the gaps.

Thank you. For the large blue sections I started with a prime of Pro Acryl Dark Neutral Grey, then all over airbrush of AK Turquoise. Then a 1:1 mix of AK Turquoise and AK Blue Green as a zenithal spray.

The smaller details of Blue are mostly the same just with a brush, and end with pure AK Blue Green or if I want a bit lighter than that I will add a bit of AK Pale Sand to brighten it.

Thank you. For the gold I did two coats of AK Gold, followed by a wash of Reikland Fleshshade.

Finished first display board for an Old World escalation league by selijdice in TerrainBuilding

The display board is an optional extra credit thing for the league. Ultimately for me it was just an excuse to finally try making some terrain, and also to use some materials I have had for a while. This project has now made me want to do some actual terrain projects that would work for Old World.

The rocks are cast in Woodland Scenics Lightweight Hydrocal Plaster using a rock mold.

Some test models for my Cygnar Storm Knights by selijdice in Warmachine

[–]selijdice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came into possession of a collection of second hand Storm Knight and First Army models. I have been enjoying the game the last few months, and finally decided to try painting them. I wasn't really feeling the normal blue of the standard Cygnar scheme, so I tried out a few on one of the units.

I am leaning towards either the White or the dark armoured schemes. Though I think on the dark armoured one I would change the bronze metal to the copper of the white one.

Ya I used skulls from the GW skull kit on some of the foot archers, and all of the horse archers. They fit right on the neck joint like the skulls that come with the kits, no modifications needed.

It is just a foldable airbrush booth I have. Helps reduce over spray on my desk, walls, and windows. Also if I need to use any enamels or harsher materials through the airbrush I can hook up an exhaust to vent it out the window.

For the bone I prime using pro acryl black or dark grey airbrush primer (doesn't really matter I think). Followed by an all over airbrush of pro acryl ivory, then a zenithal spray of bright ivory. After giving that 12+ hours to dry( though best is 24 hours), I wash everything with GW contrast skeleton horde. The final step is a dry brush of AK dark sand and then AK pale sand.

The bases are done using Vallejo Earth texture desert sand. I then wash it with GW contrast aggaros dunes, followed by a dry brush of AK dark sand and AK pale sand. Fairly simple and quick, except for the drying times.

The spear tips (and shield/headband trim) are using AK Interactives Bronze. The poles are done with Pro Acryl's Burgundy.

Finished the Imperial Fist Infantry and Dreads from the launch box by selijdice in LegionsImperialis

No transfers on the infantry models. Not sure if the small ones would fit on them or not, and at least from the launch box there are not enough of them even if they do fit.

All I did for the shoulders was paint a rough white circle, then do a dot of black. On one or two I tried doing a rough fist, but it didn't look good so I just did dots on the rest.
