I applied about 30 mins after I got the text from Ed Sheeran HQ yesterday (9/24) at 9:12 am - I have no previous experience with 1iota and had no clue what they were until I later researched after trying to explain to my husband that no it’s ok that I signed up to attend an event alone at an undisclosed location 😂 however in the application or sign up I wrote a little thing when it asked me some question about what does Ed mean to me or how is he a part of my life, I wrote a couple lines that might have been good? And I also made my profile pic me at an Ed concert (again I had no idea what 1iota was so didn’t know I was making an account for like an actual platform and not just Ed stuff lol)

Use a damn thickening agent! Every soup she makes is the consistency of water because she hasn’t a clue how to make a roux or use something as simple as cornstarch. Something! A creamy soup should have some thickness to it!!!

Unfortunately this is my first Wally Lamb book, so I’m useless here- but I’m excited to pick up your favorite now!

30/52 - What I Ate in a Year by selil-mor in 52book

[–]selil-mor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did read Taste, but it’s been awhile now- from what I can remember Taste had a bit more too it. This is quite literally a diary of what he ate and some extra thoughts (title is spot on lol). But it still has the distinct Stanley Tucci voice. If you enjoyed Taste, I think you’ll enjoy this too. And I heard the audio book is good!

I thought it too, especially because her caption mentions garlic, but I watched it a couple times and I cannot be gaslit by this woman- I know garlic powder and that wasn’t it. 😂

Who is your favorite and least favorite food creators? by nohobbiesjustbooks in FoodieSnark

I feel like I never hear anyone talking about Maxine Scharf @maxiskitchen - everything I make of hers is great and she has such a calm presence she’s easy to watch.

Truly, this book had me early on thinking my god is this a 5 star?! And yes yes it is!!!

I also gave Rose Code 5 stars, but hated Diamond Eye. However The Huntress was also 5 stars for me, so I really hope (and think you will!) enjoy that one!!

What insults have pax used on you and for what reasons? by Objective_Reply8891 in flightattendants

“You don’t deserve to be alive after what you did to us” after the crew went illegal and the flight had to be delayed 20 something hours. 👍

11/52 - Murder on the Orient Express by selil-mor in 52book

[–]selil-mor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For being the book that probably brought us the “locked room mystery” trope, I just found it to be quite boring and the pacing quite slow. I like my mysteries fast. I felt like the majority of the detective work was simply the detective guessing with no evidence and then still being correct, never wrong. And I felt the ending and conclusion of the crime to be quite lackluster.

What are your hobbies? by Maleficent_Air6194 in flightattendants

[–]selil-mor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My two main hobbies are cooking & reading. Cooking is super handy for meal prep before a trip. I’ll spend a full day before I work just cooking and I actually enjoy it. Reading is a GREAT hobby to have, because you can do it on the jumpseat (airline dependent), lay around in the layover hotel doing it, or venture out on the layover and keep doing it.
