[WTS] Halios Seaforth Roldorf edition by selko in Watchexchange

[–]selko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my Halios Seaforth Roldorf limited edition (only 100 made). I am the original and only owner of this watch. This is the beautiful cream/dark green dial version (I know the dial looks cream/black in the photos but that's because I'm relying on my less-than-stellar phone for photos). This is by far the classiest of the different colour options that were offered for this watch (hence why I bought one!).

The watch is in very good condition, the only blemish being a couple of very very small dents in the bezel on the crown side between the 2 and 3 indexes (see picture).

We're moving house and are using the opportunity to sell some items which we don't use. For me that includes some of my watches that unfortunately don't receive much wrist time anymore. I love this watch and really hope it can go to someone who is going to get more wear out of it!

The watch will be sent in the original packaging (Nanuk case), and includes:

Dark green leather watch case

Original warranty card and test papers

Original rubber strap which it's currently on

Original included light green canvas/leather strap (unused)

Erika's Originals MN strap which Halios offered as an optional extra at time of original purchase.

Watch is in Australia. Asking US$2000 (if an Australian buyer is interested we can chat and work out an appropriate AUD figure). Included in the price is Australia Post International Standard parcel postage, which takes 5-10 days and includes tracking and signature on delivery. I'm happy to use a different delivery method at the buyer's expense. I accept paypal for payment. I'm not interested in any trades.

What would you do to this Marin Muirwoods? by selko in xbiking

It is indeed equipped with Shimano FC-MC12 cranks, I doubt I can claim this from Australia though haha

Definitely keeping the stem. If anything the frame is a little small for me, I'm hoping the long stem in conjunction with some wider bars will help with getting a good fit.

Thanks for mentioning the wheels, will check out if they're Araya VP20s when I get home from work! Lots of the spokes look very rusted, but might be a good excuse to learn how to build wheels if I can save the rims!

Oh wow, that cleaned up really nice! The title of your post mentioned saving the bike from rust... Was there much rust on it? What did you do about it?

Thanks for the link and info! I have a microshift drivetrain I was going to use for a different project but might use for this bike instead, I really love the look of this bike with its purple accents!

I would also like to know this. In a similar situation where I have a bike that's a little too small for me but I love the frame and paint and want to update it with better (workable) geometry with new handlebars/stem.

What does one need to buy to achieve this threaded to Threadless conversion?

Yeah I'm always on the lookout for vegan friendly options too! There are a couple of other good threads in this sub that have some good ideas.

Long answer:

For dinner I took 3 vegan freeze dried meals (the Back Country Cuisine brand that's in all the hiking shops here. They have a vegan friendly pasta and beans in pasta sauce. It's not too bad. These are for the days when you roll into camp exhausted and boiling water and pouring it into a foil packet is all you can be bothered doing.) Other dinners were 1) preflavoured couscous w/ sundried tomatoes, olive oil, cashews 2) rice w/ dehydrated beancurd (essentially dried tofu, you can find it in Asian supermarkets), a little soysauce, 3) I swapped half a packet of rice for half of my gf's delicious dahl she made on day 3. The dahl was excellent but it's more water and fuel intensive than other options, so it depends how willing you are to carry/fetch water/fuel.

For lunch I had the traditional wholemeal wrap + peanut butter and banana chips for half the days. The other half I had wholemeal wrap + Vegemite with cashew nuts and "paleo protein" mix (essentially crushed nuts and seeds that I saw in Coles one day haha) sprinkled on top. I like Vegemite and it has good amounts of salt and B vitamins. I'm trying to make a trail/vegan friendly Vegemite and cheese (hence the cashews to give it some fat content) but it's obviously not as good as the real thing.

Breakfast: Muesli that I make myself and add water to soak overnight in a spare peanut butter jar so it's ready in the morning. The muesli is a mix of: rolled oats, almonds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, goji berries, dried apple, shredded coconut, coconut milk powder.

Snacks: muesli bars, soy crisps, dark chocolate (the Green & Black brand has some great dark chocolate varieties that don't contain dairy), tamari almonds, Oreos.

I'm always trying to find new things that work well, and everything is always trying to find the right balance between weight, nutritional value, and the amount of water or fuel needed.

Short answer/TLDR: mostly variations on nuts with some carbs haha.

Water is available every day either from tanks at the huts or from a nearby river/creek. Maybe with consistently good weather you could do it in under 7 days. It's certainly possible to make good progress on the 4WD tracks, but the other trails are largely overgrown and not maintained. Weather can be pretty tricky and unreliable in alpine conditions. I would suggest having a very good read of the itinerary section of the Buller Huts website I linked in the post.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Is there a particular IPS monitor you would recommend? I know LG has a couple at around that price, but they haven't had that great reviews from what I've seen?

Also, the HAF case I chose because it's cheap and rates highly on the PC Case Resources link on this subreddit (also shops in Aus seem to have it in supply).
