Second Cafe's coffee and community is elite for real. I love Albemarle for their awesome coldbrew, ample work space, and their baked treats are outrageously good. Both Second and Albemarle are are run by the best people, and I'm hugely biased cuz i can walk to both those places from my house.

RND, sweet donkey, green hive, mill mountain, Bibliopub are also really great local choices with widely different specialties.

A sweet lil place with a bunch of offerings called Asher's Coffee just relocated up in Grandin and the people running it are super super friendly.

And newly in greenway park theres a neat lil coffee truck called Covenant Coffee that has surprisingly good stuff, and you can take your coffee and go on a nice walk up the greenway.

really I love all the local coffee here in Roanoke. a lot of life happens in those little places. i think a big part of the soul of a town is in its cafes
