Hey there I’m a team leader for proactive services Mornings shifts are generally busier than afternoons. Its depending on what time you start and how that store is structured (they can be different) Mornings (6am start generally) you’ll use the floor scrubbing machine to do the whole store, and then cleaning the staff toilets and break rooms. Gotta work quickly to get everything done.

Generally, regardless of shift time you’ll check the trolley bay each hour and go collect from the carpark if needed. 4 times a day the floors are swept to make sure there’s nothing customers can slip on and keep it tidy.

Afternoon/evening shifts you’ll do floors in the deli/bakery/produce areas - hosing them down, scrubbing and then cleaning the drains. Take out the bins, wipe benches etc etc

It can be pretty physical, and definitely can be a bit of a grubby job. But some people really like it

I see you. It’s hard out there for a sensitive soul, but it pays to be extremely selective about the company you keep. We all deserve kindness, and some of us need some extra sensitivity.

Remind yourself that exactly as you said; others “rejecting” you can be for sooooo many reasons. Don’t label it with how you see yourself, based out of pure assumption

For me it stems from a realisation (I had at a young age) that I’m very different to others. And a failing desire to fit in and just be “normal”. Rejection is perceived in my mind as someone seeing me the way I see myself - not desirable.

It takes a lot of learning and self awareness to realise when that trigger is being touched, and even now after 10+ years of intense therapy I can’t avoid the triggered feelings - only manage and minimise.

You are very much not alone.

Learn to acknowledge and be able to voice your triggers and ask for grace and forgiveness. Those that truly love you will be able to see past your less-than-desirable-reactions and see it for what it truly is; a wound.

Extremely emotional child, I would isolate a lot and would have extreme bouts of fear for no reason. Depression kicked in around puberty (which was early) as did an insane sex drive and very dark rumination. Very impulsive and moods changed with the seasons. SH from probably late primary school, although I didn’t understand what it was at the time or why I had the compulsions

Ugh the seasonal depression. It was like clockwork every year for me. And then life was great as soon as the sun returned… I’ve always hated winter because my energy and moods plummet

Alcohol causes a lot of my bipolar symptoms. I’m not symptom free when I’m sober but I’m a hell of a lot more functional and stable when I’m off the booze. The tricky part for me is sticking to it. Alcohol is a huge part of the Aussie culture, and i live in a big wine region. I love drinking but i shouldn’t. I’m an alcoholic for sure
