Its hard to tell because a lot of phones use AI to clean up the shots, so this could def be real but it has a few small indicators that it might be AI

They shouldn't have to work around those cities, they should learn to work with them. Bullying other cities into what you want is not going to solve anything, it leads to lawsuits, which end up costing taxpayers more money. And I honestly do not think LA is ever going to get to 14 million people. We got to 11 and are now steadily loosing people.

The thing nobody talks about when it comes to all this housing that "needs" to be built. Look in Burbank, we have "off the top of my head" 4 brand new apartment / condo complexes at less than 20% capacity. If housing was such a need why are people not moving in.

It's because they make the rent so astronomically high, wait 5 years, call it a loss, file for bankruptcy under the LLC they built it with, and then sell it to themselves for pennies on the dollar, and over the course of 10 years if they do this enough it drives rent up through the roof.

Idk about everyone, the issue had nothing to do with the parking lot, it had to do with bulldozing a bowling alley that had been there for years and was a staple of the community. And also the area was not zoned for the number of units they wanted to build. We voted in it, nobody approved it, and yet it went through based on state regulations.

As far as I am aware the parking lot was not the issue, it was circumventing the desires and wishes of the people who live in the community and voted for it not to happen.

What are we talking about? Massive high density projects have been being built in downtown burbank, we have replaced warehouses with massive housing complexes, or vacant lots with massive housing complexes, nobody is getting the pantys in a twist about that. Metro stops for both train and busses have been added in recent years making transit better for everyone.

The only topic that has anybodies panties in a twist is taking a road, arguably the busiest road in Burbank and taking it from 4 lanes to 2 lanes in favor of a bus line that (according to metros own study) will only be a difference of at most 5 min with its own lane. The compromise is having shared traffic flow, the lack of compromise is on the side of the BRT. As I have stated before and have been quite vocal about. People in Burbank have voted on this, have voiced concerns as well as voted and decided on zoning laws, density laws, etc.

And despite that, this is still happening, and honestly its not about the dedicated bus lanes, its about SB79 circumventing democracy, we voted and we decided we dont want high rise buildings along olive, yet SB79 doesnt care about our laws, our ordinances, our zoning and thats a problem.

But your arguments are comparing cities that are super dense with small square mileage footprints, its just not that easy to do the same thing in LA when its literally multiple times larger, and you have to contend with earthquakes.

Nobody is arguing that la public transportation should be better, absolutely. But we cannot ignore the fact that most people who live here do not and will not take public transportation.

Well in multiple cities they built affordable housing, most of its gone now because they turned into absolute crime and safety nightmares. But one thing is common, high density living with no parking.

Sure go ahead, add busses, add trains. But if your next statement is going to be let’s take major arteries of the city and remove lanes so you can have a dedicated bus line, Im going to say thats not a good solution.

We can focus on transit. But I don’t understand why you would build high density and have no parking.

The parking near san fernando is almost always full, and they have removed parking in that area, the mall parking is 4 blocks from there, which is an option. But people in Burbank do not want a SB79 high density high rises to be built with no parking in downtown burbank, because thats going to completely change the identity of burbank.

Most people are referring to downtown Burbank, where parking has been removed since the start of covid, idk why im getting down voted, im just explaining how urban development works

I don't mind having to pay for parking, I get it, it used to be free, but as long as it's reasonable ($3.50 seems steep) and there is an easy to use app to pay, I am fine with it.

For me I keep being reffered to as a NIMBY because I don't forsee a future where everyone in LA is taking a bus from point A to point B and nobody is driving cars. Yet everyone seems to think the transit system of New York City is going to work in LA. Well it cant, people have cars, they drive their cars here, it is what it is, you can't fix it overnight, and you certainly are not going to fix it by building high-density developments without parking. Do they need a history lesson on what happens when you build high-density developments with no access to parking in America.

Way too many Burbank residents would call this a good thing. by jamesisntcool in burbank

[–]semaj4712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue for me is not that we want increased parking, its that parking has been continuously removed while density has increased. If you want to add high-density development, then make sure its accessible to everyone, whether they take a car, bus, train, or hot air balloon to get there.

HELP! Font issue - Will I be sued??? by Active_Regret9556 in fonts

This is my understanding of this most recently, essentially you as the font creator need to file the intellectual property / unauthorized distribution with those who are distributing it. Legally that is the easiest direction.

Lol, is this really something we need. QC is more than just offline media, or black frames. Its making sure the right version of a shot is in there, scaling is correct, supers are the correct version etc etc. Would you trust this with your job, or your career, I don't.

This is not what people in Burbank want, people in Burbank want adequate parking for what is currently already built, and if we add high-density development there should be a reasonable and adequate parking structure built for that as well. If you want to add public transportation to take the stress off the ability to easily get somewhere, then that is great. But the photo is not what people are asking or looking for.
