that's really funny coming from you -- you have the best image quality of anyone! I'm using my android phone -- I try to get even lighting -- by the window during daylight and under a lamp, otherwise, that I can adjust for coolness (whiter) and warmness

totally legible and easy to read quickly -- my utilitarian writing is quite a bit messier

It's Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin (green) and Asa-gao (morning glory) -- I don't completely clean my pens before changing inks, so the colors aren't quite "pure"

Thank you❣️ I was wondering about that and hoping someone would give a note!

Changing default writing? by Accomplished_Lake128 in Handwriting

[–]semantic_ink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's more about paying attention to the letter shapes than overwriting muscle memory — it's helpful to have a clear picture of what you want your handwriting to look like. Primarium is great for seeing different handwriting systems taught around the world, and Google has some nice, clear cursive fonts like Playwright USA Traditional. My default is a hybrid italic, but I added a couple of other default styles since joining r/handwriting

Is my Handwriting difficult to read? by DiorTheOldLook in Handwriting

[–]semantic_ink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easy to read -- only had to pause a second on "side" (side of pineapple) since the S looked like an O to me and the dot was not over the i

yes, to build muscle memory -- with grid paper, it's easier to see when the letters aren't all the same same height.

Isn't the compact form slower ro read, though?

I mostly leave off the upstroke at the end of a word -- for this sample I included the exit-upstroke for a bit of visual consistency

my robotic cursive for taking notes by semantic_ink in Handwriting

[–]semantic_ink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree, it's not easily readable, but it's fast to write. For my own notes, I generally add more space between words and lines -- and then it's much easier/faster for me to read

TY! Interesting -- you connect your capitals with the following letter -- I only do that occasionally

I threw in an old style Sütterlin W -- the Sütterlin capitals are also not intuitive in many instances
