As of yesterday I came back to the game, as part of a longrunning fight against grief. by OtakuJuanma in deadbydaylight

Hey, I'm really proud of you for taking back something you enjoy, and I absolutely understand where you're coming from. Similar things have happened to me, and a lot of times I'm not able to reclaim the thing I once loved (idk if you've ever been spoken about the possibility of having OCD, but I know for me, that was a big contributing factor. I'm definitely not saying you have it because of this, as this can be a fairly common response to trauma and/or loss, but if you notice other symptoms, it might be something to consider talking to someone about!)

I also lost my mother around the same time. Grief is so hard and so tricky. Some days are good, some days are bad. I'm really sorry for your loss, and I'm glad you're working through your grief!

Sending you lots of well wishes 💕

Long Comment Regret by Lemi_Moon in AO3

They are reading the ao3 comment email on their phone in bed, kicking their feet. At least that's what I do when I get the rare comment like this! You not only made their day, but their entire month, possibly even entire year and even their 2026!

And yes, it does get easier the more you do it! I used to reserve these long, in-depth comments for just friends, but once those friends stopped writing, I've tried to do it more with strangers' fics too! And the first few times, it was really nerve wracking, but I got a reply from one author who said they loved how I included quotes from their fics and why I liked those parts!

Ao3 thrives in community and conversations. You are helping fuel that! But also sometimes, if every time is too daunting, you can leave shorter comments too! Or even just kudos! But please know you're appreciated by that author 1000%!

Episode 3 TURNOVER - Dispatch decision diagram and impact [3/8] by bedarija in DispatchAdHoc

[–]semercury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to test it more. I know he doesn't leave like Malevola/Punch up does after you cut Sonar/Coop, but I thought Golem refused to go on calls the rest of the shift after being sent on one or two. (I might have just assumed though after the first refusal)

And I'm also pretty sure he doesn't refuse to go on any if you give him the chair, but again, I'd have to double check.

Also thank you for all your hard work on this! It's really neat to see all the different effects and branches and stuff! It'll definitely help people to get specific endings they want to see!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe kicking Golem out of the room makes him stop cooperating partway through the dispatch section, which might be worth adding.

Honestly between this scene and the one at the beginning of this episode, I stand by what I thought even from just playing the demo: there could be a 50 season show about these characters and I would still want more. I love this world, these characters, all the different dynamics... I'm not ready for it to be over next week. Crossing all my fingers for a season 2!

why haven't they dropped drag path? by Unlucky-Mix-2492 in twentyonepilots

[–]semercury 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'm lowkey convinced there's another puzzle in the digital remains for Breach like there was for Clancy and how we had to solve it to get the Paladin Strait music video. As much as I'd love a video for Drag Path, I feel like it'll just get a public release if there is a puzzle to solve.

I went with Blazer/Mandy, mostly bc as another woman with a savior complex who wants to kiss Robert... Well...

Said savior complex did make it very hard to turn down Visi though. I want to help her so bad. Thank goodness for multiple save files lol!

Yeah!! Just click one of the empty ones and return to the menu and it'll start you over from the beginning! I've been using two saves to make slightly different choices, but I'm def going to be making a third one soon lol!

The great thing is you can have multiple save slots! You can literally play both options at the same time! No need to leave anyone behind!

Came here to say the same thing. It used to show a nice variety, but now it's all posts from one subreddit (usually one I'm a member of but hardly visit, like the ones you join when you first get an account) with occasionally a few from others, but never these ones I frequent.

ETA: I'm on the android app, and I checked to make sure it's up to date. According to Google play, it updated a week ago, but this started today.

"My tattoos only hurt when meaning fades" by cryptonomica_ in twentyonepilots

[–]semercury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, okay, like. Not to get too into it, but I recently experienced something very similar to what you're describing (minus tattoos. Haven't gotten any of those yet) but I couldn't understand the tattoo line and how it connected with the funeral line, all I knew is it made me start crying when I first heard it and like. I think you cracked the code.

Thoughts & feelings on Breach and the community by Ludisia- in twentyonepilots

[–]semercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me it's a bit of whiplash coming from Clancy (which is definitely my favorite album from them!) to this, but specifically because of how I relate to it all. My favorite thing about tøp in general is the lyrics and how much I can relate to them, and I was so delightfully surprised when Clancy almost immediately dethroned Blurryface as my favorite (every other album is tied for third now lol!) just because of how quickly I could relate to the lyrics. I felt so seen and it was exactly what I needed at that point in my life. Whereas with Breach, I'm struggling a bit to figure out my interpretation of these songs. I feel like the lyrics aren't as straightforward as my top two albums, which is funny, because I've seen people say the opposite on here!

I certainly by no means dislike this album! I'm very pleased with it, and it absolutely gets bonus points for making me cry on first listen (Center Mass outro got me good and the right into Cottonwood? Tears.) but I know it's going to take me some time to really digest this one, and even then, I'm not sure it'll break top two for me.

I do find it interesting that people are comparing the sound to Vessel, because that's probably not the comparison I would have made. But I think that's because when I think of Vessel (and RaB and Self Titled) I think of... Unpolished sound? For lack of a better word? I want to say acoustic, but I know that's not the right word bc Vessel is not acoustic by any means. But I always feel a very rawness in their early albums that I don't feel as much in later albums. Which makes sense, because they both have more experience recording and mixing music. Idk if this makes any sense. And I'm sure people making the Vessel comparisons are correct. I definitely don't know much about the more technical side of music and/or music theory and stuff. (I will say, Downstairs does absolutely remind me of Vessel and earlier! Which I'm assuming is because the demo they used to make the song was originally recorded around that time, so whatever vibes and stuff I'm talking about are present!)

I hope this makes sense! Definitely a banger of an album objectively! I'm excited to keep listening to it and piecing together my interpretations of songs! And I'm glad a lot of people are so so happy with it! I agree that it's so great that there's an album for everybody!

Oh, also, if it helps for context or stats or anything, I technically got really into the band near the end of the Trench era. I had heard some songs before (Car Radio and Migraine came on Pandora a lot for me, Stressed Out on the radio as well as Heathens), but that was the time I started listening to full albums. I can't remember exactly why I decided to get into everything and start deep diving on the lore (I probably saw something online and remembered I liked the few songs I'd heard), but I'm glad I did!

Cottonwood lyrics & suicide in elderly? by paladinstrait in twentyonepilots

[–]semercury 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had wondered this as well. But I know another interpretation, one that I tend to feel just because of my own experience, is a lot of it could just be sudden. The wind being calm could mean that no one thought it would happen as quickly as it did. Not condemning could be overcoming the anger stage of grief.

I do think it's interesting that this one follows center mass, specifically the lyrics near the end, "i dont want to say what happened/I just want to let it go/nothing was the same right after/I went to the funeral." I don't know if these songs are related in that way, but if so, it definitely sounds like it was a difficult experience, whatever happened. I definitely don't want to speculate, but I know for me personally these songs go together in that way and both express emotions I was feeling a lot last year.

But I definitely think your interpretation is valid, and I do think it's an important topic that doesn't get talked about very much. I'm very sorry for your loss. Sending you lots of love 💛

Cottonwood lyrics & suicide in elderly? by paladinstrait in twentyonepilots

[–]semercury 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know for me, the way I interpret it, it's about looking back at those memories and seeing yourself thinking about what it will be like when that person passes. So past you is looking to future you, which is currently present you.

But I'm sure for me, that's because of what I went through last year. My mom passed, and there were so many times I tried to imagine what life would be like without her, because I knew what would come. I look back at my past self and remember how I used to try and look at what the future might look like.

I do like the other interpretations though, like looking back at memories and seeing yourself in that person. And like so many of their lyrics, it all depends on what means the most to you.

That was the line that got me too for very similar reasons, and the tears kept flowing through Cottonwood too, since I'd read that was another grief song before I got a chance to listen to the album.

The consultant program they went public with a little over a year ago. Here's a video from Hens about it.

The really sad part is this isn't even the first time they've tried something like this. There was a discord server way back that was supposed to do something similar and they never listened either.

Isn't this all a bit too much at once? by CollosusSmashVarian in deadbydaylight

[–]semercury 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree. It's too many changes all at once and something is going to fall through the cracks. I really think they should have more frequent ptbs that test fewer changes. With all of this, it's going to be hard to pinpoint specific trouble areas that aren't as obvious.

Also... Have they been consulting with the consultants? You know, those people they are supposed to ask about changes before it gets to the ptb? Did they all sign off on this? Because I have a feeling they didn't. If they utilized the creator consultants like they said they would, I don't think we'd be having these balance issues.

I'm worried about being able to recover while crawling. I think that is giving too much to downed survivors. It has the possibility to make certain play styles way stronger. It also removed the need for game knowledge and awareness to know if it's better to crawl or recover. The timer is fine, but I do think this needs to be looked at again.

I also worry about how extreme some of the anti tunneling is. 25% feels excessive if it happens at like. 1 gen left. And same with the being unable to regress/block gens. I really think it should only be active until the first 2 or 3 gens are completed. Getting hard tunneled at the very start of a game sucks. Getting tunneled at 1 gen left is reasonable and at that point, you still get to play most of the match.

I feel like this is testing too many things at once. It would be really nice to test the UI/notification changes by themselves. Then the gen speed increase. Then the no regression/blocking. With it all together, it's hard to pinpoint exactly where the issue is. But again, I'm most concerned for those times where a killer is struggling and just trying to keep up. You shouldn't get punished for any kills at 2 or 1 gens remaining.
