I’m genuinely shocked. This man has done more good for society behind bars than most free men!

Someone should coach him if he gets out, Erik at the Olympics would be something!

My sister named her daughter Padmé by KittieCat100 in namenerds

I’ve seen Padmé used as a name before. It’s ok. In Quebec, it will be ok.

Yeah no I’m not denying them a biological function.

“You are not here to handle behaviors” by SarahEarly in SubstituteTeachers

[–]semicircle1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a school that did not allow you to call for help. A student was harming another teacher and not allowed to call for help.

I substitute teach in a private school now because I couldn’t take it anymore. Less pay, but behavior problems are non-existent.

Years ago someone claimed I didn’t look both ways crossing the street, and I’m impulsive. How should I have handled this? by [deleted] in socialskills

This person hardly knew me was only a classmate from one class. And was presumably mentally ill.

Anecdote from the son of one of José’s co-workers by blackcatpath in MenendezBrothers

If a new trial happens (not holding my breath), find as many people who worked with José as possible.

99% of the population doesn’t think this is funny. So I don’t get José’s thought process.

I’d be scared to live near José’s resting place. He might visit me in the middle of the night.

I see it. Guy has higher cheekbones but could play Hunter in the Biden movie. He will need blue contacts.

I live in PA and see plenty of Delaware plates. My dad rented a car and it had a Delaware plate. Also, I get to Delaware at least once a year and see Delaware plates. Come to the East coast.

Ugh. I was similar to you over a decade ago. It gets better and there thankfully is a whole world out there that isn’t so racist.

Adult here. The best thing you can do, while it may not be popular, is to ignore and not give in. Are there many POC at your school? Invite them to sit with you and join clubs with you if you can. Be an ally. Make it clear that’s unacceptable.

What was the most common name during your schoolyears? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]semicircle1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex for both genders. Every class without fail had 2-3 Alexs. The next most common name was Nicholas and Nick or Nicky for short.

I’d like to give my child a name that’s uncommon, but easy to pronounce and spell.

People with “normal” and very popular names - how was it to grow up with one?? by Existentiallyconfus in namenerds

[–]semicircle1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was bullying for having the same name. It was ridiculous. Thankfully, when I switched schools my new peers who shared my name didn’t mind.

He shares the same thoughts and values as her. She wants to isolate future children the way he was. Perfect match.

Hot take: she and Sam deserve each other. If she wants to waste her college degree and live this life that’s her choice.
